Hi Majest,

The reason why you are unable to choose BTRFS during install is outlined in this thread here: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=168710

Hope this answers your question.

Re: Trash from terminal command

Not sure if this is what you are after, but in terminal I can do the command:

nemo trash:/// # this will open the file manager to the location of trash

Possibly this route you can make a shortcut link with this command.

Re: grub bootloader was not configured properly

@gold_finger Here are the command line results. I have not rebooted. I will do that after this post and post again with the results. I presume, however, that umount should not have generated the associated output. mint@mint ~ $ sudo mount /dev/sda2 /mnt mint@mint ~ $ cd /mnt && ls bin dev h...

Re: Hiding the calendar in Mate

Thanks, I think this is probably where to do it. But after installing gconf-editor from http://community.linuxmint.com/software/view/gconf-editor I don't have "Panel" shown under Apps It's not an additional clock applet that I added to the Panel. It's the one that came pre installed LInux...

Re: Linux Mint Cinnamon won't boot

Have you tried re-installing the cinnamon desktop? Alt+F2 > gksudo synaptic # to bring up the synaptic package manager Search for cinnamon desktop or just cinnamon. If you are unable to get into a cinnamon session you'll need to do this via terminal. Ctrl + Alt + F1 brings you to a virtual console. ...

Re: Disappearing desktop icons

Just wanting to cover the bases, but are there any log entries in /var/log/messages? Maybe there's also some other logs that could pertain to this weird issue. Wonder if nautilus is being somehow killed off maybe or something real funky is going on. Seeing if you have any nautilus processes running,...

Re: shutdown problem

Do you have a virtualbox session open at the time of shutting down the host system? Try closing all your virtual box sessions, but do not exit the virtual box application, shutdown or restart the host machine and report back on what happens. It could be that virutalbox does not want to have any of t...

Re: Hiding the calendar in Mate

This is actually a global GNOME 'way' of doing things from what I'm seeing. I'm currently at work running on Suse with the gnome desktop environment but this also happens on Linux Mint Debian Edition 201403 Cinnamon as well as Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon from what I switch from and the clock applet behav...

[SOLVED]Flickering on Terminal (650TI with 334.21 drive)

Hi, I was trying to use the search but wasn't able to come up with anything. I have installed the most recent LMDE 64-bit, also checked the md5 sum to make sure it was genuine. I have a flickering issue where in terminal, after executing a command such as 'ls' the prompt flickers. In firefox, links ...
