Re: how to move claws email client to another pc

Open your home directory, turn on hidden files. (ctrl-h). Copy your .claws-mail directory. Use this copy after installing claws-mail on another computer. Contains all your settings, account info, email etc.

Re: Tried the others, came back to Mint. It is good to be home...

I too tried MX. One of the attractions was no systemd. Suspend worked perfectly when tested vs. Mint 18.3 which 10% of the time locked up the computer, but printer setup was a pain. All in all a very nice distro, and I will continue to tinker with it as new versions are released. My main OS is Mint ...

Re: Firefox 69.0 odd behavior

So a corrupt profile did this then after all? Was the only diagnosis that made any sense but I still wonder what issue would lead to such behaviour. We'll never know. ;) Yes, except the profile wasn't corrupt 'til ff 69.0! Has worked fine up until ff updated to v. 69.0. I really hate leaving this a...

Re: Firefox 69.0 odd behavior

My apologies to the Ubuntu firefox maintainers! Seems there is something in my profile that causes this behavior in ff 69, although not in previous versions. Renaming .mozilla to .mozilla.old, and starting firefox, restoring bookmarks and adding shortcut in the toolbar--hovering/highlighting is norm...

Re: Firefox 69.0 odd behavior

Thanks both Lex & gm10, but I'm sure now it's a bug in the way that the (little star icon) show-bookmarks shortcut works. I have found that if I enable the menu bar, and activate bookmarks, all is well (behavior is normal) Since I dislike using the menu bar because it takes up valuable vertical real...

Re: Firefox 69.0 odd behavior

gm10,

Yes, I've always pinned firefox to the ubuntu repo, which is a day or two ahead of mint repos. Forgot about that--maybe some others will chime in when the mint version goes out. Thanks

Re: Firefox 69.0 odd behavior

If you look closely, you will see that the "metalworking" category (folder) is highlighted, but clearly, the links are those from the "woodworking" category.

Lex & gm10, thanks for your replies.

Re: Firefox 69.0 odd behavior

gm10,

I don't use the bookmarks toolbar, I use the bookmarks shortcut in the header bar. (star with underlining).
Screenshooter will not open simultaneously with the the bookmarks activated with this shortcut or I'd include a screenshot of the actual behavior.

Firefox 69.0 odd behavior

Firefox updated yesterday to version 69.0, and I noticed an odd (annoying) behavior when using the bookmarks pulldown. My bookmarks are well organized into folders and subfolders--I've had them this way for years. In Firefox 69.0, when I run the mouse (or touchpad) cursor down the first column of fo...

Re: Bookmarks backup software

With Firefox, on your mint 18 box: bookmarks, show all bookmarks, import and backup, backup--then choose your location. This will create a file like "bookmarks-2019-08-30.json" Then use this file to restore on the mint 19 box, only this time choosing restore, choose file--then navigate to the file y...

Re: Mouse way too fast!

As an alternative, I set up a keyboard shortcut (alt+m) that I hit as soon as the laptop boots. Not as elegant as what rene is referring to, but easy to change as I switch mice sometimes.

Slider control for acceleration & sensitivity do exist in XFCE, under settings, mouse & touchpad. Are you using libinput or evdev? See my post above.

Re: Mouse way too fast!

Hi philgm, Sounds like you've got the wrong device number. Try the following: xinput --list (to get device number e.g.:11) then: xinput --set-prop 11 "Device Accel Constant Deceleration" 2.6 (11, & 2.6 are the numbers that I use, so substitute what works for you) One caution though. If you have swit...

Re: Draftsight DEB install fails

What version are you running? The deb file for linux beta 2019 sp0 is 295mb. Installs and runs fine here, but somewhat buggy. Editing a toolbar then hitting apply, causes all previous toolbar edits to disappear. Also did not correctly import my previous settings from 2018 sp2.
