Re: Which LinuxMint can I use?

Thanks for the information. installed LM 17.1 "Rebecca" 32 Bit Xfce. Seems to be working fine with the exception of one problem. The Icon in the lower Right corner by the clock which indicates that the computer is up to date, shows, off and on, a Red X every so often telling me that it failed to acc...

Which LinuxMint can I use?

I have a Dell B130 32-Bit, Intel 910, 2 GB Ram, Laptop. What version of LinuxMint 32-Bit would function with my Laptop? Not sure what other information you would need to determine what version I can install. Any help or information would be appreciated if at all possible. Thanks.

What is an Orphan account in GnuCash?[Solved]

In my Gnucash program I created an error in my checking account register when trying to balance my monthly banking statement, which later created a problem in my check book balance. I deleted the double entry error, but later noticed that it created an Orphan account. I am not sure what to do with t...

Relay pin configuration[Solved]

I know, this is not a Linux related question, but where can I get or find the pin configuration of a Potter Brumfield 120V 10 A relay? Part number is KRP11AG and it has an 8 pin tube socket configuration. No luck in a week's time trying to find this.

Data files created using GNUCASH checkbook register

My check book register, which I created in Gnucash, saves files everytime I use Gnucash. My folder is loaded with many files. Tried deleting some files and found out I was unable to open my most recent entries in my check book account. How do I distinguish which files to remove to maintain my recent...

Re: Latest Firefox update did not completely install.

Sorry for my late reply. After searching about LM installations on older computers, I came to the conclusion, after reading some LM websites, that I needed to install an earlier version of LM because of my old computer. I have installed Linux Mint 17.1 Xcfe 32 Bit "Rebecca" and so far, after two Fir...

[SOLVED]Latest Firefox update did not completely install.

When I turned on my computer this morning, I had a new Firefox update to install. I have an old Dell B130 Laptop that I use for my Linux Mint 18.3 32-Bit Mate. I notice that Firefox remained on the screen telling me it was unable to install the security portions of the update and therefore did not c...

Monitor is jerky

A few days ago I performed a clean install of LM 18.3 32-Bit Mate on a Dell Laptop. Whenever I try to see any videos, the sound is smooth, but the video stops and starts randomly. Not sync to the audio. I'm I missing some drivers or codecs that could cause this? All the necessary updates were instal...

[SOLVED] LM 18.3 instructons for 32 Bit version??

I just completed a clean installation of LM 18.3 32-Bit Mate. I went to the website "Easy Linux Tips" to begin configuration of my installation. I noticed that they do not show or reference any tips for 32-Bit installation. Only 64 Bit instructions are shown. The website is (https://sites.google.com...

Re: No WI-FI after clean install of LM 18.1 MATE

OK. I found the problem. My Bios had a Wireless Device switch which I found in the OFF position. Default sets it to ON, normally. Found it after going through the website Easy Linux Tips Project. (https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/Home). Anyway, thanks for those who stopped by.

[SOLVED] No WI-FI after clean install of LM 18.1 MATE

I did a clean install of LM 18.1 MATE using my cable input from my Wireless Router and had no problems. Disconnected the cable to check out my wireless connection and I had no signal. The icon was still the two cables and not the stair signal level I was accustom to. I selected my wireless signal an...

Why do I Have to depress F1 to login everytime

About 2 weeks ago my computer now requires me to select a user by depressing F1. I have Linux Mint 18 Mate 32 bit version installed. This has happened in the past, like once every 2 months or so, but not as regular as it is doing now. Now it happens every time I login. Login Preferences doesn't show...

Re: VLC will only auto play store bought audio CD's

I burned an audio CD in Linux Mint using Brasero and it worked just fine. It occurred to me that when I burned my other Audio CD's I first converted them from WMP to MP3 to be able to add more songs. I wonder if this conversion is what caused my problem of not being able to have them play automatica...

Re: VLC will only auto play store bought audio CD's

OK. What I found was that playing CD/DVD's burned on a Windows system uses Xplayer in Linux Mint to manually play the media. Both computers with Linux Mint 18 react in the same way. I looked into UDFtools and it says that not too many people use this program if at all. What I haven't tried is to bur...
