Re: No menu in 19.2

I have just resolved this, I found how to restore the menu, the problem seems to have been that I had a custom icon for the menu, I turned this off and now the full application menu has returned.

[SOLVED] No menu in 19.2

Hi there, Before I did this I made a complete backup of / and /home with Timeshift. I upgraded from 19.1 - 19.2. Everything looked fine except the menu, when I click on it it is blank. Just a search bar at the top, that does not function, and what looks like a tab that says applications menu (doesn'...

(SOLVED) Bleachbit

I use Bleachbit to delete the contents of my Trash directory.
Weird thing is, sometimes, some of the content I have deleted months beforehand reappears in the Trash directory.
Has anyone else had this happen?
I run Linux Mint 19.1 Tessa, Cinnamon 3.8.9, Kernel 4.15.0-54

Re: Question about "transmission", the bit torrent

My two cents worth is.....try Deluge Natalia, as others have commented, it's way better than Transmission.

Re: Home contents on desktop problem

Thank you gm10, the first code worked!
I guess I have lost the files that were on my desktop before this happened.
Do you know what may have caused this in the first place?

[SOLVED] Home contents on desktop problem

Hi there, Last night I downloaded a torrent of Marx Brothers movies, and during the night I awoke, saw the torrent was completed, and shut down my pc. This morning when I booted up, the contents of my /home directory (directories and three videos) were on my desktop. I opened my /home directory and ...

Hi there Malligt.
Here is an excellent guide to the Mint 19 Update Manager: https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/20
I believe it was created by one of the crew here but I am sorry I don't know which member did it . My apologies for not mentioning his name.

Re: Extending root partition

Thank you gm10, and to all of your replies! I no longer have to resize things at the moment as I have taken the advice of examining root and removing unneeded files. I have around 3GB space in there now and I am continuing to look for more. When I do decide to extend root I know how to go about it n...

Re: Extending root partitian

Thank you OunceofCommonSense and Pierre.
Pierre, what do you mean by 'a fair bit of time', is that 15 minutes, 1 hour...is there some kind of indication that the process is completed?

[SOLVED] Extending root partition

Hi there, I have looked around the Internet for answers to this query but I am still not entirely confident about what I think I should do here. As you can see the space on root is getting low and I wish to increase it. Is it simply a matter of booting to the live disk, opening Gparted, and dragging...
