Cannot Move Home Directory

Hi I have reinstalled Mint 19.1 on an SSD and my Home folder is on a 2 Tb HDD. During the install process I chose "something else " and mounted the HDD to /Home and did not format it but when I reboot the Home folder is empty as it would be in a completely clean install. I have read that to get the ...

Mint 19.1 Wont Boot from SSD

Hi Yesterday I was playing with an earlier version of Thunderbird and got into a mess and decided to revert to a backup from Timeshift. When I rebooted it started to check the file system and got to about 30% before stopping with the following message. You are in emergency mode. After logging in typ...

Re: Install Charamel add on in Thunderbird 60.7.0

Hi Karl I have now managed to edit the charamel file by renaming it .zip and doing the same to the files inside. When I try to install the add on in Thunderbird by installing from a file it comes up with the error "this add on could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt." Is there a way ...

Re: Install Charamel add on in Thunderbird 60.7.0

Hi Karl

I have repositioned application/x-xpiinstall xpi to line 521 and checked that the both the zip and unzip commands are on the system. The archive manager still fails to open any .xpi file.

Cheers

Re: Install Charamel add on in Thunderbird 60.7.0

Hi Karl

The archive manager is still complaining about the file type even after putting the line in /etc/mime.types.
Thank you so much for your time and expertise but it looks like I will have to leave it there.

Many thanks
Mike

Re: Install Charamel add on in Thunderbird 60.7.0

Hi Karl

There is no application/x-xpinstall listed in /etc/mime.types on my system. Is there a way to get it added to the list? Is there another way I can edit the various files in Charamel-2.0.1-fx+tb.xpi?

Regards

Re: Install Charamel add on in Thunderbird 60.7.0

Hi Karl

Thank you for your reply. I have downloaded Charamel-2.0.1-fx+tb.xpi as you suggested but when I try to open it with the archive manager I get an error saying "Could not open Charamel-2.0.1-fx+tb.xpi" And then "Archive type not supported"
Do you know of a way around this?

Kind Regards
Mike
