Can anyone give me a review of the xfce version.

I have used Mint before and i liked it although i don't like the ubuntu base. I'm looking for someone who is not a Linux expert to give me a review of the xfce version of mint. performance, looks, ease of use. one of the big problems i have always had with most linux distros is the wifi setup. http:...

ultra light mint

i have used all kinds of distros, the debian based have been my favorite though. one thing i like about some distros is that they make a light version to work on older pc's or to improve on speed. is there any planning for an ultra light mint that could run xfce and still have all of the codecs?

i was just surfing over linuxtracker.org and was reading about the latest beta of mepis and it stated that beryl is in the repository. i will check to see if i can manually add the repository to mint, especially if it is a one click install.

hey clem, question.

hey man, what do you think about beryl? a lot of buzz is floating on the net about beryl and it's open gl accelerators. would this be a viable desktop environment or are you going to stick to gnome? from what i've seen it looks nice but i don't know anything about programming. is there any way you c...

hey clem. if you make it they will buy it.

hey man,

i saw that scorp123 has a nice little linux mint avatar. if you had that logo made into case badges or stickers i know that i would buy them for twice what you would pay to have them made. i would pay as much as $10 a piece. this might help you with funding.

the only problem that i see about making a manual is that you couldn't have a printed version due to the speed at which linux progresses. something written today would change tomorrow when something better comes out. an online version could be changed immediately and kept up to date though.

I went to the wine website and they stated that the wine that is in the repositories is not the wine that is currently working. they have not gotten the updated wine into the deb repository. you can manually add the new wine address to your repository but i have had no luck in doing this with mint. ...

attention programmers, and clem.

I have only been using linux for about 2 months now but absolutely love it. I don't know anything about programming but wish I did so that I could contribute to the community but I can't. Anyways, I have an idea for linux mint on a usb flash drive, let's call it "MINT FLASH". it's not just a standar...

wireless help for other newbies

I found that if you use Kpackage to find ndiswrapper that there is also a graphical interface that you can use that helps to automate the process. then all you have to do is to browse for the driver, click on it and it will be installed. also there are other ndis add ons that you can download that a...

hey man, hate to bug you again but i got something for you to check out. i use an HP DV-2000 laptop. all of the linux distributions i have tried failed to recognize that there was even an onboard wireless system (broadcom airforce one 4318). Can Mint Have Access to more repositories?

I was wondering if you could add a tool to download from other debian/ubuntu repositories? I know that MEPIS linux aleady has this but it would be nice if Mint had the ability to download and install more than what it has in it's repository. If Mint already has this ability then ignore this, just ad...

Need help seeding Mint

I have converted Mint Bea into a torrent and currently it says that it is available for download, but I am unable to find it whenever I use a torrent search engine. Does anyone have an idea how to make a link so that I can post it here for torrents?

I am now seeding Linux Mint 2.1 Bea BETA

I have started seeding Mint Bea beta. I will continue seeding 24/7. Just make sure that if you get it that you need to seed it so that others can get it. Mint users are the lifeblood.

give Mint some art.

I like the idea of going with a Minty theme. but like the developers said they don't have the time to do a lot of the artwork and such. Maybe Mint users can submit art or demos. I have seen a lot of great art on the net.

Members are the LifeBlood of Mint

In case of Mint getting shut down I have an idea about how to further Mint. 1. the developers keep making Mint. 2. all members of the forums keep copies of the latest Mint. 3. the developers keep all of our listed email address for contact points. 4. everybody seeds Mint through torrents. 5. members...
