Re: Linux Mint has "Black Humor"

Being black, and a geek trust me I've heard every possible combination of "wait black people use Linux?" and take it in stride. As an American I also realize our little melting pot doesn't come with out some conflict and issues. The fortune above isn't a new joke and has been told to me by...

Re: two reasons to replace network-manager with wicd

I know that my own lack understanding of networking under linux (especially wireless) may be block between a fix for network-manager and the current si...

Re: Goggle Earth fickers

The new drivers fixed the flicker on my ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 as well. At least for Google Earth. I still have to turn off compiz to play games like Nexuiz.

I like that conky, you mind posting the conkyrc config? I would live to make one of my own based off of it.
I got it from:

and made a couple of changes.

Re: Advantages of 64-bit?

I have also had a pretty flawless experience with 64-bit Mint during both install and everyday use. There are little things such as 64-bit flash flaking in Firefox occasionally and certain software will reject your machine entirely but that is due to system architecture, not operating system. My mac...

Re: What Do You Do When...

Well, many do exactly what you are doing, post a question in an online forum specific to their distro or on linuxquestions.org. There is also a large amount of documentation out there for the new Linux user and a simple Google search can also yeild wealth of information.
