Yes, Joe, Thanks for the feedback; Mine is fsck -y /dev/sda3 Every time this has happened it has started when I attempt to start Firefox browser. It says Firefox is already running, please close firefox. But there is no indications any place to be found where Firefox is running. No place to shut it ...

Re: Video and animation apps - anyone know a good one for Linux Mint?

Very nicely done Racer-x, Pictures are beautiful. And the slides are great. Hope the folks on this Linux forum don't mind but I also posted my first short version of my project on Youtube.com This is basically the first page of a six page document script, Just the starting sequence. There is no audi...

Re: Video and animation apps - anyone know a good one for Linux Mint?

Wow, Thanks for that tip Racer-x, I'll have to give that a try. I have managed to create a few (2) scrolling title images of text, but at this point I think I have to say the Version 19.12.0 has the world's worst text editor in those title boxes. That thing is near useless and very aggravating to us...

Re: Video and animation apps - anyone know a good one for Linux Mint?

Well I do Finally have a working version of KDenlive installed and running. It looks familiar since I used it last year to make a couple short videos. So far I've managed to create some over-lay text files using Gimp imaging with a transparent background. That seems to work well for still images on ...

Re: Video and animation apps - anyone know a good one for Linux Mint?

Here's a little bit of an update on what I've done and what I've got. First I downloaded Kdenlive from their web site. This was through a sudo apt-get terminal command in the web site. At first it appeared a little strange, the entire screen was white, no application colors like we would normally ex...

Re: Video and animation apps - anyone know a good one for l-Mint?

Strange, I had Kdenlive prior to my system crash, actually managed to make a couple videos with it. Then I switched to Openshot for some reason, don't remember why now. The new version of Kdenlive looks a lot different from the older one I had. The problems with Openshot is that darned Blender add-o...

Video and animation apps - anyone know a good one for Linux Mint?

I've been trying to work with Openshot and Blender, So far Openshot seems to work ok but in order to create a scrolling title or an animation it needs Blender. So far I've been trying to work with Blender for about a month to no avail. Nothing at all yet, not even one simple text scroll. There has t...

Re: Finding installed executables

Terminal:
cd /usr/bin
Which Blender = /usr/bin/Blender
Which Inkscape = /usr/bin/inkscape

I had to change directory in order for it to find them.

OK, Thanks for the assistance.

Finding installed executables

L-Mint-19.2, I'm trying to use Openshot video editor. That application uses several add-on packages. Blender, and Inkscape. Both applications are installed via the Software manager system. Both applications installed easily and both work independently. However - - The Openshot editor requires a dire...

Re: Moving a shortcut to the Panel <SOLVED>

Just a reply to let people know what this "Link-To" does for the way I use this. I also have a dual boot system with MS-Windows-7 and the Linux-Mint 19.2. My system is split with three major partitions, One for Windows and my accounting package, one for the Linux Mint, and the third is for my files ...

Re: Moving a shortcut to the Panel <SOLVED>

Mint-17.2 had the capability of "Create-a-link-too" for files kept in other folders, I was able to keep my files in one folder while using a "Link-too" on my desktop. That capability appears to be gone in Mint-19.2 and Libre-office 6.07.03.
Unable to find an answer in Libre-office docs.

Re: Best backup utility for Mint 19.2?

My, Very limited, understanding of Timeshift is that you could take a Snap-shot of your current state of updates and possibly some of your data files. That sounds to me as though Timeshift Snap-shot would be a good application to run just before running any updates to the system. That way if an upda...
