Repository list resources (Solved)

I added something to my repository list that I should not have. I know how to figure out which ones to remove but I don't know how to get to that list. I done it before and fixed it but I cant remember how I did it. I even tried to google it to see if I could not find the command that brings up the ...

Open source for parts?

.....I am looking into building a desktop myself when I can afford it. I love to be way ahead of the game. That is why I would like to look into this now. I have searched through different hardware to try and find source code. To my surprise I could not find anything. I thought surely there would be...

Destruction by closed source

Is it just me or are we coming upon an age where open source is being drowned out by the secret code technology? Lawsuits are being thrown between Google, Apple, Samsung, and even Facebook. As a result we are seeing information being closed off and Linux is becoming a diy hobbyist only system. Am I ...

Avidemux broken mpeg (solved)

I have been trying to get Avidmux to save without crashing. I finally did it but it either spits out a broken mpeg or it spits out an mpeg without the change in frame rate. I kind of think I am doing something wrong. I think the real questions is; "How do I apply the frame rate to stick to the ...

Python Libraries?

I am learning Python at the moment and plan on learning C because I want to build my own Python libraries and possibly even an operating system in C code. All in due time one should say. Have any of you made your own Python Libraries and successfully imported them into a Python program you wrote? Pe...

Re: VLC failure play DVD

dpkg-query: no packages found matching libdvdcss Edit; I figured out where your were going with this and then figured out what was missing. libdvdcss was updated to libdvdcss2 or it seems that way. I read through this thread and found a command that fixed it and reading through its output saw that ...

I recently switched to a new computer because my other one was about to be 6 years old and I decided on fixing my windows to a Linux mint. All went well until I started having trouble playing DVD's. Before I switched the OS DVD's played just fine in Windows. I am trying to get VLC to play a DVD with...

Unable to find registration key (Solved)

So I am trying to figure out how to create an account on the Linux mint community. Unfortunately I can't find IRC chat that it is talking about. Its not on my Linux mint qiana. I remember seeing the IRC chat in Linux mint Rebecca when I had that version but its missing in qiana. So needless to say I...

What do I need to know?

I am studying Terminal commands, the Linux file system and doing Python tutorials right now. I want to build a Linux from scratch system (LFS.) Is there anything else I should include in my studies? The reason why I ask is because I want to know how to trouble shoot even before I face problems. If y...

Re: Still unable to update

The command "pluma" did not work so I used the command "nano" bringing up a text editor to delete the repeats.

Its was one of those moments that I feel like I am lost. Thanks for your help.

Re: Failure to install acroread

Hello, Octavian. apt-get complains about duplicate repository entries, very likely the one that you have just added, because it should have been there already. Anyway. Please, post the screen output of Code: Select all inxi -r Cheers, Karl matalicpebble@matalicpebble-Inspiron-530 ~ $ inxi -r Repos:...
