Thanks!

Will LM 18 drop fglrx like Ubuntu 16.04???

Canonical has announced that they will drop support for fglrx in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS because fglrx is no longer maintained properly and therefore does not support X.org 1.18 (that's the version number, right?), and recommends using AMDGPU or radeonsi depending on your hardware until 16.04.1 (according ...

Re: Mint17 Cinnamon - How can I replace Pulse Audio with ALS

Hey Flemur, thanks for your kind help! Try $ sudo apt-get remove pulseaudio (not purge, no '*') Or, in synaptic, try unmarking the things you want to keep. It still wants to remove: cinnamon cinnamon-bluetooth cinnamon-control-center cinnamon-screensaver libcanberra-pulse nemo nemo-fileroller nemo-...

Re: safe way to disable pulseaudio in cinnamon 17.2?

Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, Red Hat, CentOS(?), etc. PulseAudio is the most widely adopted sound system on the Linux platform and almost every distribution and desktop environment use it. The only thing which shows higher quality is JACK, which is for music STUDIOS, NOT AT ALL FOR ...

Try installing Cowsay again. You should never remove software that is included with any distribution, not just Linux Mint. But if you want to, search Google if there are any side effects.

Where is the error? The output shows no error. It ran perfectly and Compiz is working.

Looks like Compulab ran out of stock, while Amazon still had some in stock, and then Amazon also ran out of stock. Compulab is manufacturing new supply. Funny how people the Linux and Windows are the same.
How I remember it is instead of remembering that that's that, I just remember the kernel is NT or Linux.
NT? That's Windows.

I installed Mint 13 xfce on my old Dell laptop (non-pae), with great results.
What about Mint 17?
Just asking in personal interest, I do not have a 32-bit computer.

Hi Aoi In that case the issue is probably not with the procedure for installing gnome  Check your Xorg.0.log for openGL support, I'm pretty sure you have a driver issue. I get the same on my tablet (fixed after installing the Catalyst driver) Carefull note, OpenGL should be supported to run G...

Hello, F1241. In order to understand my answer it is important to know this equation: Mint 15 = Ubuntu 13.04 - Unity desktop + Mint desktop So the most efficient way of getting Mint 15 with Unity desktop is by downloading and installing Ubuntu 13.04 with the Unity desktop directly. Kind rega...
