Re: Disappearing Clock

I, too had to go to LCD to have time stay in task bar. Next logical question, is there a site I could go to or that would notify me when the "bug" is fixed?

Re: [Tutorial] Live usb with persistence over 4GB

I have a "live" LM 19.1X that I'd like to add persistence.. .not create a bootable USB stick. So, if I read correctly, I have to partition the thumbdrive, make/label the partition "casper-rw", then delete casper-rw in the files? Just one question, will this work if instead of an .iso I have dd on th...

Re: Persistence is not working for my live USB of Mint 19 [SOLVED]

RE: muteant

I want to add "persistence" as well, to a "live" LM 19.1X(Tessa) running on an 8Gb pendrive. Could you explain "how-to" accomplish this. I'm a bit confused at your reply to mcabel >>Fri Aug 10, 2018 5:21 am.

Time/date config. and add persistence

Running LM 19.1X "live" and the time/date disappears when/after I try to "set" it. Ok, so tried to move it to the left more (-> move) in task bar and it will not comply. So, let's just ditch the 'default" clock. What pkg(s) could I install that would give complete manageability? I recall previous LM...

LinuxMint on a "stick"

I came to this forum because my question is certainly "off topic"??? I tried to operate LM 17-18-19 XFCE "live" and "installed" from a pendrive. Had all kinds of "issues" doing so. Finally, someone told me to use "Puppy" as it runs from the RAM. OK, now running "Puppy" and lagging/freezing issues va...

Re: Full Install to USB Drive: Three Options

Afternhoon PBear Read, w/ interest your, thread. I have a few questions, if you don't mind. I too, wanted to run 18.3/19.1 "installed" from a pendrive. I had major "issues" right off the bat and wondered if you care to comment? First and foremost, when posting in several Linux forums sites, I was in...

Re: lagging and D/l issues with LM 19.1

OK, I wish to THANK Pjtor for his response. IF anyone is interested, it has been stated that running 'full install" from a pendrive isn't the best thing to do. And, reducing the swapiness " should " decrease the amount lagging. I guess I'll try running "live". Hope I don't have problems there. Marki...

Re: lagging and D/l issues with LM 19.1

RE: EVERYONE OK, getting no responses. Maybe I've worded this thread wrong, or perhaps, there's no one here that has experience with running a full install from a pendrive? So, I'll ask, can anyone direct me to a forum/help site/tutorial that might be able to address some of the problems I'm experie...

lagging and D/l issues with LM 19.1

Afternoon: Yesterday, I "installed" LM 19.1 onto a PNY 16Gb (2.0) pendrive. I'm having a multitude of issues already. First off, the O.S. experiences excessive lagging and freezes. I wonder if this will alleviate the more I use it? In keeping with that issue, D/l and "updates" also take far too long...

Everyone:

Never got this issue resolved. I've now moved on to 19.1. I'm not sure if I should remove this thread for now, it is irrelevant?

Re: [Tutorial] Live usb with persistence over 4GB

Afternoon: OK, tried to create a extended partition to house the casper-rw and for whatever reason, GPparted wouldn't allow it???. So, want to make the casper-rw a folder which would/should(?) work just as well(???). My question now is: #1 creating the folder to ..where? (/casper-rw) #2 Could not fi...

Re: [Tutorial] Live usb with persistence over 4GB

Just now attempted this and got a failure(error) notice: http://www.ubuntubuzz.com/2015/04/create-multiboot-os-usb-with-multisystem-in-linux.html. This is a fairly new, been tested over and over, working 16 GB-3.0 pendrive. It was "blank" except for the Fat32 format. This is the error; Erreur: Multi...

Hi 69Rixter I have always been able to create a USB sticks with greater than 4gb of persistent space using "MultiSystem" and the instructions in the beginning of this post for every edition and version of Linux Mint through 18.3. persistent partitions quit working after 17.2 unless someone fixes a bug in the newest casper which is in 17.3, where you can ONLY use a persistent file and limited to 4GB.
