Everytime I log on to Linux, I have to go to computer->browse network->then select my usb storage in order for vlc to see it. Is there a way that I can save it so its all ways there.

OK I have narrowed it down to possibly being a Linux issue or my laptop issue, as I can now get it work with my pc. I just can't get it to work with my laptop. I will update this post as well but is there anyone out there that may have an idea.

Marty, thanks for the reply. I will look into that. So basically Samba would allow me to access the files on Windows machine, through the Linux machine. I would then use VLC to play the music.
