Re: Blue Yeti Snowball USB microphone is not recognized
Dear MrEen, I tried the unbind/bind idea, but again no connection. I tried again checking for bent pins, and I tried a different cable. At this point, I'm going to stop. This is some subtle problem between this particular microphone and my Linux Mint installations (and maybe the Thinkpad range). I'v...

Re: Blue Yeti Snowball USB microphone is not recognized
The Snowball is directly connected every time. Cable from mic to laptop's usb socket. The usb hub is for other things. It makes no difference if I disconnect it. The non-connection with the Snowball happens on all four of the Thinkpad/Mint machines I have, and the others don't have a usb hub. PS thr...

Re: Blue Yeti Snowball USB microphone is not recognized
I have another usb out going to a little hub with external mouse, keyboard and a couple of drives. Um, I have an external web camera+mic, but I didn't think it was plugged in at the same times as the Snowball. Maybe I was mistaken. No, I have never found the mic suddenly coming to life. I haven't le...

Re: Blue Yeti Snowball USB microphone is not recognized
Two years on, and my Blue Snowball still doesn't work on any of my Thinkpad laptops running Linux Mint. This includes a Carbon X that recently ran Windows 8 and recognized the microphone just fine. Wiped the machine, installed Mint, and no more microphone. Same as all my Mint machines. However, I ha...

With Xreader, you have to "save a copy" of your PDF in order for the bookmarks to be retained. Afaik, by trial and error.

Blue Yeti Snowball USB microphone is not recognized
The USB microphone is seen (red light on mic) but the USB connection is not recognized properly and the microphone does not show up in Sound settings or in Pulseaudio pavucontrol. Same result on two Thinkpad T500s and a T560, all running Linux 4.15.0-29-generic amd64 and Linux Mint Cinnamon 19. Any ...

Re: Hardware Problems with Kernel 4.15.0-20 and -21
I've had these same problems on Lenovo Thinkpads T560 and T500. I tried the fix above and got this error message: sudo apt-get install linux-base linux-modules-extra-4.15.0-20-generic ... Setting up linux-modules-extra-4.15.0-20-generic (4.15.0-20.21~16.04.1) ... Processing triggers for linux-image-...

Re: Choppy youtube/HTML5 playback
I've spent a lot of time on this, trying everything that others mention, and I've finally found a solution for myself that I haven't seen elsewhere.
I uninstalled MDM and installed LightDM.
Best,
Dominik

Installer crashing: lasting damage?
Last week I had big trouble installing Linux Mint 18.1 from a USB stick on to a new Dell Latitude E5570. The installation went smoothly until grub2 installation, and then repeatedly crashed with a fatal error message. After the crash, and without rebooting the USB session, I installed and ran boot-r...

Re: Linux Mint 17.1 “Rebecca” Cinnamon RC released!
Loving 17.1 RC Cinnamon, only one slight problem it you install the Okular (I know it's KDE) but it's the one pdf program that does what I need to get done. The new Okular is not working in 17.1 It says can't find backend when trying to open a pdf file. Also most of the settings are grayed out. Wou...
