OSD For OpenVPN To Long & Redundant Please Fix

Hi Guys, First let me say to those involved 14 32bit on Cinnamon is really nice! When using OpenVPN the OSD I noticed is to big, a word being cut off and to much information and redundant. Here's a screen shot; http://postimg.org/image/99iy9qb7n/full/ So to start with: 1. We know this is a VPN so th...

Re: Huge Icons in taskbar?

Mine did this too and the Mint Team should have this Scale option on by default unless it's a bug and it doesn't need to be. Whatever the case, PLEASE fix this guys, fix the bug or turn the option on by Default! People shouldn't have to mess with something like this, not that it's hard, but it's not...

Re: The Mint Team Should SLOW Down On Releases!

I just had two lockups today using Chromium, so not sure if this is a Chromium problem or what, but I also had problems with Firefox always locking up the desktop and I had this happen on 3 different distros and 3 different boxes... I've had enough of it I'm sorry to say, time to go look for somethi...

The Mint Team Should SLOW Down On Releases!

As long as Mint has been around, to date, at least for me, 13 has been the worst release. The Mate desktop is certainly more stable than Cinnamon and Cinnamon should still be in BETA, not a final release, to many issues I've encountered. I don't know about everyone else, but I'll take STABILITY and ...

Nope this darn thing still isn't working and I submitted a bug report and no reply back either... Sorry guys 13 with Cinnamon is the worst version of Mint I've used since Mint came out... This should still be in BETA testing and should of never been released in this condition... MINT PEOPLE LISTEN U...

Re: Does The 'Update Manager' Work For You In 13 Cinammon?

Check in Edit > Preferences > Auto-Refresh that you have configured it to auto-refresh. By default it is set to auto-refresh every 15 minutes, but if you changed this to shorter it may perhaps not have time to complete before it runs again, or if set to longer it doesn't run before you already manu...

Re: Feedback On 13 Cinnamon - Hopefully We'll See Changed?

While I agree ufw should be enabled by default, it would block some basic functionality for users on the local network. Specifically, it would block Samba and Avahi (zeroconf); limiting interoperability with other computers (like file and printer sharing) and disabling automatic discovery of networ...

Does The 'Update Manager' Work For You In 13 Cinammon?

Since the release of 13 Cinnamon x86 the Update Manger does not work for me, meaning it never shows updates, with the green check mark changing while it's sitting in the panel to the info icon. I constantly have to click on it and open it and let it download the files and have it check, THEN I get t...

Re: Cinnamon - How Can I Add Launchers To Panel?

You can browse for programs in the Menu, right-click on them and choose "Add to panel" The "Get new applet" button opens this webpage http://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/applets . You can go there to download applets. Ahh stupid me, I typically right click everything there is, ...

Re: Feedback On 13 Cinnamon - Hopefully We'll See Changed?

My bad before, I should of said it would be nice to have an option to adjust the Menu & Network Menu is all, it certainly depends on your screen size, on 15" laptops it's HUGE! UFW; https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UFW - I personally don't get why it's not enabled by default to give someon...

Cinnamon - How Can I Add Launchers To Panel?

In Cinnamon I'd like to be able to add some other launchers/applets like Chromium along side Firefox, but I can't figure out how to do this, ahhhh I feel like such a newbie and this shouldn't be so complicated to do, right click and add, well I don't see this ability... Also the 'get new applets' li...

Feedback On 13 Cinnamon - Hopefully We'll See Changed?

THANKS for putting out 13 Cinnamon. I wanted to give some feedback and hopefully these things can be changed, and if there are already options to do so, then please forgive my ignorance because I didn't notice where... 1. Menu is just to BIG/TALL, would certainly be nice to have a much smaller menu,...

Re: Is UFW Enabled By Default In Mint 12?

I don't know for sure, although I don't think so. But with this command you will be able to tell me: sudo ufw status And btw unless you are a command line fan, the best way to monitor/run/amend the scope of ufw is to install its gui front end gufw - it is only a few kilobytes in size. I'm a Slacker...

Re: Please Change Boot Splash - Grub Menu - Better Options

I've been around Mint since the day Mint was born, I know all about this; Here's a comment on that too; With a black splash, we don’t achieve as much eye candy of course but at least we get a decent looking boot sequence for everybody. I'm sorry whoever said this, but I hardly believe you are speaki...

Re: Gnome 3 Top Bar Network Notification Icon For VPN

You are probably using Gnome Shell + MGSE, as installed by default desktop on Linux Mint 12. As that was not satisfying the developers, they have created Cinnamon as a replacement for Gnome Shell (both run as the user interface on top of Gnome 3). Development of MGSE has been dropped, so any sugges...

Please Change Boot Splash - Grub Menu - Better Options

Hi Guys, I hope the Mint team will finally change the Grub Menu and bootup... People have been asking for years and nothing has ever happened and it's really sad... :( I know that the Ubuntu approach to this boot process is that it's suppose to be so much faster, this is why it's black, but the trut...

Gnome 3 Top Bar Network Notification Icon For VPN

Hi Guys, I noticed today when I set up OpenVPN in Mint 12 under Gnome that the Top Bar Network Notification icon does not change to show something like a lock next to it, to let you know you're on a VPN, also without any OSD Notifications, or any locks next to the icon, you have no way to let you kn...

How Can I Silence The Boot & Reboot?

Well since Mint uses Plymouth I personally don't have any reason for the text messages that will appear at times when booting up and restarting, so is there a way to not have the text appear from the kernel and silence them, so all I have is just a black screen during boot and reboot in Katya? THANKS
