Installing Win10 on a Linux Based system - Windows will not install on a newly created partition

Let me be clear, I've been in software development since 92 and I've done anything you can think of at least once. I'm not new at this. Situation: Installing Windows on an existing Linux system without having to reformat the drive, install Windows first, then Linux. I just thought of trying to move ...

Re: b43 driver installation issue.

Well, stranger things have happened. I finally get around to playing with the old Dell I dropped LM 18.3 on and obviously had Wifi driver issues. I plug it in, turn it on and the WiFi lit up! Looks like the installation did work after all! Although I have NO FREAKIN idea why it worked after sitting ...

Yea, I'll get to that soon. Now I just want the b43 driver to make the wifi work. But that's in another post. :P :D

Re: b43 driver installation issue.

That is correct, I do not have a ethernet web connection, just wireless. Unless I stumble across one in my travels. The Dropbox link to b43.zip is dead. I found one on the Ubuntu site but, I had to register. C'est la vie. I'll try it when I return home. This will be the 4th time and hopefully the fi...

<SOLVED> b43 driver installation issue.

Hello, I've tried in vain to install the Broadcom b43.x driver on two different laptop using a USB drive and copying and installing them per supplied instructions. I know the WiFi hardware works on both. I can swap to a HD w/Windows and they both operate correctly. I do not have access to a hard net...

Re: Root Access with the supplied Terminal program v18.3

Nothing in particular. I'm just a control freak and I like to have all access and complete control over every aspect of a system.

Eh, maybe I reinstall 17.x. Not much difference.

Root Access with the supplied Terminal program v18.3

Hello, Not a newbie, but new to 18.3. I dropped 18.3 on an old laptop and immediately noticed the "Terminal w/Root" version (or option) that was installed on 17.X is missing. Any clue why? I tried accessing root with my default password and it failed. I'm sure I'm missing something stupid. I found: ...

Re: kernel panic

I would create a bootable flash with the util you need and run a diags on everything you can. The flash stand alone will provide the ability to test without worries about update, drive errors and a list of other things.

Rocket Software's Universe MultiValue Database

I've dropped LM17 on to a machine and I am installing Rocket Software's UniVerse_PE DB ver 11.2.2. Does anyone have any experience with this?
