I'm not sure that I added it but at the extreme right of the taskbar there is a small grey bar called the "corner bar" which is the show desktop icon. in, at least, the latest version of Mint Cinnamon. Found it and it works, good idea shame its not 2x wider it would be nice to have one on...

This is one reason why one of the first 5 things I do when setting up /fresh install and setup/ a LM PC is ensuring Timeshift is set to target a separate physical drive just in case I forget to turn off automatic snapshot creation. Last I recall /run/timeshift gets filled up and this is the result....

Old SSD drive - probably already has a partition table on it. You just need an ext4 partition on it. You can do this with disks or gparted. 240GB is more than enough.
