Re: Booting Problem - ACPI Error
This probably doesn't help much, but I'm basically getting the same error message with an ASRock mainboard (here). Maybe that thread helps you - at least you get to know all the things I tried so far. Any maybe one of the things I tried works for you.

Re: Not able to boot: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed
After some research on the internet & I tried the program boot repair to see if that is able to make booting my PC more stable. I ran it, and here is the complete log of what it found and what it repaired. However, it still doesn't boot consistently, so apparently nothing relevant has changed. I...

Re: Not able to boot: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed
Again, thank you - I'm very grateful for you to take the time to help me here. acpi=off doesn't work. I tried it a few times, but it never manages to boot. This is what is shows without deleting "quiet splash", this is what it shows after deleting "quiet splash". Here is the url ...

Re: Not able to boot: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed
Alright, thanks again for the useful suggestions. With “nomodeset“ in grub, I have finally been able to boot. I then installed Linux Mint from the flash drive & upgraded to kernel 4.18 … all in all, it seems a little more stable than 4.15. However, it still doesn’t boot reliably (it works approx...

Re: Not able to boot: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed
Thank you for your suggestions! I checked the iso and also the flash drive (the latter by successfully installing LM19.1 with the same flash drive on a different pc). So I think the flash drive is not the problem. I read through the Arch linux thread and it indeed sounds quite similar. Sadly I'm not...

[SOLVED] Unable to connect to extra.linuxmint.com:http:
Hello! I'm having a problem on three different laptops, two running Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon 64-bit and one running Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 64-bit. I did a fresh install of Linux Mint 17.2 on a laptop (Asus UX32VD) and checked the md5sum of the downloaded iso. After installation, I got the followin...

Re: USB flash drives become read-only
Hello! I'm not shure if I'm talking about the same problem, but I had an issue with my USB flash drives too. When I plugged them in, I got the message Could not display "/media/USERNAME/USB-DRIVE". The location is not a folder. I could open the drive as root though and write files to it. T...
