What is modern design? Just look at mozilla.org for example. 15 pages(!) 1920x1080 of nothing.

Once they start charging fees for the distros, I'm pretty sure the makers of popular software will follow suit.
Yes.
Goodbye FOSS & hello COSS (commercial open-source software). :(
So, what a single reason to use open source for money if I understand nothing in sources regardless opened or closed?

Re: IBM to buy Red Hat

If such a scenario plays out, ie users will have the "difficult" choice of running Google-Ubuntu or IBM-Red Hat, ie no more M$-Win-10 and Apple-MacOS, I would hope that both Google and IBM will compete and sell their OSes at about US$20 per license, whether Retail or OEM licenses. ....... IOW Googl...

Re: IBM to buy Red Hat

Cost of OS Win 10 is nothing comparing summ of all another windows software installed in whole company.
Nobody will switch to "IBHEL" because nothing will run on it. Please, don't say seriously "Libre office", GIMP, e.t.c.

I hope IBM will make CentOS or Fedora user-friendly(= fully GUI-based like Windows and MacOS) to the average users, trademark it, sell it for about US$20 per Retail license and offer Volume License discounts(eg at US$10 per OEM license) to the OEMs.
$20 for be sticked to Gnome3?

Well, I would not be surprised if the Canonical will sell themselves to Apple and Debian to Google.
I would be surprised, and if they do that, I will likely start using a Red Hat derivative.
And IBM-PC of course.

Struggling to digest IBM's press release mentioning the word "cloud" 41 times  I mean, that does nothing for us desktop Linux users.
Two-three years later the question "what is desktop Linux?" will not seem so stupid. Fedora is first in line.

There is big problem with Android smartfones. Problem is not with Android itself but with manifatcturers of devices. They virtually never updates their devices. Once you got something with Android X.XX rather you will die than receive an update to Android X.X+1. To be honest, some manufacturers are ...
