Re: nvidia geforce210 black screen
i keep thinking it may be hardware error or something broken. I admit i bought the card at second hand, is not new by any means and it may have issues...if that's the case, i must get a newer one. But i hope that is not the case, taking into account that it still displays very well on w10.

Re: nvidia geforce210 black screen
If bios splash doesn't even show, it is a mechanical issue. What do you mean by that? The card maybe not compatible with motherboard slot or? i mean that the vga cable cannot be broken ,in the same position on the monitor and same slot on nvidia card windows shows up but anything else no. If i get ...

Hi all. I've got a problem with my asus laptop. I got an integrated wifi card which doesnt work under any linux distro tested by me, and i 've tried plenty of. Re: Linux mint 18- system doesn't shut down
Well in this pc I installed ( I tried at least) a few more versions of Linux such as Ubuntu 16 and other Linux mint editions until i found this one which is better than all of those. I guess when i installed this mint 18 it found a previously installed grub and didn't change it because it was functi...

Re: Linux mint 18- system doesn't shut down
I think i solved soemthing.
I used grub-customizer instead of startup-manager and yes, it worked.
I switched the kernel with 4.4.038 instead of .4.4.036 and now it shuts down properly. I took a few tests and each time it was well.
I hope it stays like this
.
But unfortunately no sound on jacks

Re: Linux mint 18- system doesn't shut down
I tried that too, but it only wants the current kernel, others it doesnt switch to them, in software manager.
And in grub list it also does not appear, i am not even able to select when i boot the desired option , even if the timeout is not zero, i set it myelf to a few seconds....so what to try next?

Re: Linux mint 18- system doesn't shut down
i did register it and ran grub-update, but no effect except for just one correct shutdown. I will look forward to update all programs update manager wants to and see if any changes. Also i may try change the kernel with another better one but not sure how to do it safely.
