Re: Dogs...wonderful

... and expect nothing in return. rumpus, I think I know what you want to say, but: My (late and current) dogs disagree. At first they want attraction. This can be in the simplest case just to look into the eyes - or to repeat the dog's look into mine. Then they want to get stroked. Every day they ...

Re: Dogs...wonderful

Hi Cosmo....I'm happy you have a new dog. Is it another Dobie? No. Daisy is a mix between Miniature Pinscher and another, bigger dog. You ma ask, why not a Dobie again. This is the result of long thoughts I did in the last years (long before Donna went away). I am in the fall of my life. I can, tak...

Re: Dogs...wonderful

it worries me. Perhaps you are right about worrying, but perhaps you are wrong, because often dogs can live some more years and they are still happy dogs, even if they got gray. (Note, that not all dogs get gray, when the become old, So this visual aspects does not say much. See my previous post on...

Donna 27.1.2011 - 11.2.2019 I miss you so much    My very best friend is a Dobermann. As very most dogs for their owners - the best dog ever. She is lying on my side and if a type to much here without paying the needed attention to her she reminds me, that she is still there and stil...

Re: Change size in Libre Office Writer 5. From "Standing" to the opposite

You can follow my advice even without any language problem: Click in the status bar of Writer on the third item (it should read "Standard" or similar in your language); this opens the page format settings.

portrait vs landscape belongs also to the page format settings. It is one click to switch between them.

Re: HOW TO: THUNDERBIRD: Copy ENTIRE address book all at once ???

Then do it this way (it will take some time). Create in TB a new address book. This will create a new abook-1.mab file. This step is needed to register the address book in TB. Close TB. Now take the first address book from the older systems, rename it to abook-1.mab and copy it into the profile in 1...

Re: What is Mint's current "official" recommendation about updates?

 Simple facts (and of course you know them): 1. There was never an update for TS in the Mint repo, although Tony provided several new versions with bug fixes (partially critical like the inability to use drives with more thn 2 TB). 2. You had in the past opened an issue yourself regarding TS ...

Not really. But I think, that you are talking about page formatting. There you can set the margins (and more).

At least as far as the Swiss cheese with the holes is concerned - more precisely it is the Emmentaler: In principle correct. But all what I did was to translate the passage of the article, I did not want to interpret or correct it. (And in German language the terms Swiss cheese and Emmentaler are o...

Re: Poor Cinnamon 3.8 article

What now? Is Cinnamon 3.8 officially released or not? I read above - dated from 4th May - it is not, but already 2 days ago (2nd May) Clem said expressively at the very top Cinnamon 3.8 is now officially out. I always thought, that "released" and "out" would be in this context the same. What ...

2. I can launch UKUU from the menu as normal (have to authenticate when it starts up). Otherwise, UKUU notifies me when a newer kernel version is avaialable. As long as you start ukuu only on this way, I have no explanation, why it writes into user's cache - and as said I have no experience with it...

Re: security & how can I increase auto wifi log on attemps?

So my question is 'if I'm online & the browsers open, but blank (no web page), if I'm infected with bots or virus etc, wouldn't I see activity on my system monitor re network history, & if no activity is displayed, can I assume I have no infection? If the attacking software is clever, it waits, unt...

Re: HOW TO: THUNDERBIRD: Copy ENTIRE address book all at once ???

Perhaps you misunderstood: I asked for the number of address-books. Go into your profile folder and count the number of MAB files. If you have more than 2, the additional address books are most likely named abook-1.mab and so on (increasing number).

Likely.
In the article is said, that we can nowadays not more speak about holes. It is merely a kind of Swiss cheese, which is designed to have holes. With the current cpus there is no end of the drama in sight.

You did not answer, which date you get in the login screen.

Create a fresh new user account and log into it. The same behavior there?
