Re: Mouse not working at boot.

Run 'lsusb' before you remove the mouse and after you reconnect it. Can the system see it before unplugging.

wxPython Locking Laptop

I have an application written in Python 2.7 and wxPython 2.8.It runs without issue on Mint 13, both 32- and 64-bit.However with Mint 17.3 it can lock up when you select an option (Button). There seems no logical explanation for this as the software has been used from Mint 8 upwards. Has anybody expe...

Re: My Wifi keeps dropping. It shows connected but internet goes off every few minutes.

Have you checked the WiFi is OK with another device, such as a mobile phone. It could be a router problem for instance.

I have had the odd WiFi issue with 17.3 which disappeared by going to Mint 18.

Mint 18.x and Python 2.7

I am involved with a major application that started ten years ago and has absorbed well in excess of 20,000 man hours. Over the years it has run on Mint 8, 9, 13 and 17. For longevity (till 2021) it now needs to be ported to Mint 18. The application is written in Python 2.7, wxPython 2.8 and MySQL. ...

Re: Canot Delete Files in Places Window

I suspect there may be permissions problems if you have loaded data from a back up. You need to check ownership and permissions. If you are unfamiliar with this check out the chown, chgrp and chmod commands.

Re: Firefox 57.0.1 on Mint 13 System

There appear to be valid business reasons for staying on Mint 13 for the next 6/12 months. I strongly doubt, that there can exist any rational reason to stay with a system full of security leaks. The time for LM 13 ended already 9 months ago. Currently he is porting a major chunk of software from P...
