Connecting to Win10 shares on MINT 21.3
Can someone here please give me a simple refresher course on the steps involved in setting up my new Linux MINT 21.3 Cinnamon for networking or "SHARING" Files and or Folders with Windows 10? When I search for info, it seems there are many different ways to go about this that to me are con...

Re: Recommended Partition Sizes for a 2TB SSD
I've been running MINT 19.1 for years now (I know, it's way past time). I have in the past let MINT divvy up my installation drive as it sees fit, which has worked out well for the most part. Since then, I have found out I should have created during the install a specific HOME Partition to help faci...

Recommended Partition Sizes for a 2TB SSD
What are the recommended Partition sizes for both ROOT and for HOME, when first installing "fresh" to a brand new 2TB SSD? I have let MINT decide in the past, but now this time, I would like to manually create and size specific Partitions when installing on a new SSD. I want to especially ...

Sharing Files/Folders between Mint 19.1 and Mint 20
Hi Not a necessarily a Linux newbie, but getting old and need some help / instruction sharing files between my older Desktop's Mint 19.1 and a newer Acer Laptop's Mint 20. Re: Browser issue after accepting MINT update for Chromium
G-Mail NOW is as it was, which is very quick to load and snappy!
I have done nothing but use, and wait and see. Must have been just one of those things?
Thanks again everyone

Re: Browser issue after accepting MINT update for Chromium
OK. I did try re-installing Chromium directly mid MINT Updates without success. Glad it is fixed by MINT Update now! On a different note, I am now experiencing slow loading of G-Mail for some reason? G-Mail page usually jumps on screen without hesitation. Is this slower than usual G-Mail pausing / l...

Re: Browser issue after accepting MINT update for Chromium
Dumb question I pre suppose but, would upgrading from MINT19.1 to MINT 19.2 make any difference with my current Chromium Browser issue?
Just a thought.

Re: Browser issue after accepting MINT update for Chromium
Same thing in "Incognito mode". Does seem a bit quicker to respond after I pruned many bookmarks and completely removed, purged, and reinstalled several times now. Still an annoying delay appearing along with the browser "freeze", make Chromium no longer desirable since that last...

Re: Browser issue after accepting MINT update for Chromium
"When you uninstalled, did you purge it or just re-install over the top?" How does one "purge it"? Besides Chromium, I also completely removed the only other installed associated file, a codec (ffmg?) I re-installed Chromium using the code you gave in the Terminal, and along with...

Re: Browser issue after accepting MINT update for Chromium
Complete removal in Synaptic then Terminal installation. Same sh*t! Although it does appear to respond a bit quicker in the one time I tested? Sometimes after the "Other Bookmarks appear, I would even have trouble scrolling down my longish list. Maybe some more "pruning" would help? I...

Re: Browser issue after accepting MINT update for Chromium
Have re-installed Chromium via Terminal as per "sleeper 12" with NO fix, same result. I have seriously pruned (deleted) my long "Other Bookmarks" list, also with NO fix on that temp. delay and freeze issue. Been using Firefox and beginning to like it, though Google Chromium has b...

Re: Browser issue after accepting MINT update for Chromium
Problematic replying to your suggestions since I am in Firefox. Testing in Chromium is frustrating! The frozen tabs I'm referring to are my "Bookmarks Toolbar" tabs just on top. These plus my "Other Bookmarks" tab off to the right side also on top. The "Bookmarks Toolbar&quo...

Re: Browser issue after accepting MINT update for Chromium
As I said, this temporary "freeze" issue occurs regardless of which Bookmark tab I click on.
Besides, I use Chromium in Win10 as well, and ALL my Bookmark tabs work just fine! It's only in MINT19.1, AFTER I installed their latest offered Chromium Version update!

Browser issue after accepting MINT update for Chromium
After accepting and installing a new Chromium Browser Version: 77.0.3865.90-Oubuntu 0.18.04.1, from a recent MINT(19.1) "Update" offer. The posted "issue is: Whenever I click on my "Other Bookmarks" tab or any other Browser tab, my system locks up! This lockup or freeze last...

Pjotr Quote: Some graphics cards don't work well with the open-source driver present in Linux Mint. If Linux Mint freezes during boot time, use the "nomodeset" boot option as illustrated in the video below" :End Quote So, would I find out if MINT "freezes during boot time" (...

Re: NVidia or AMD video card for MINT 19?
Thanks Pjotr
So, NO problem installing MINT 19.1 Cinnamon initially with an older NVidia card, then later on upgrading to a "newer" (ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1060) NVidia video card?

Re: NVidia or AMD video card for MINT 19?
Thanks ajgringo619 MINT 19.1 built-in drivers for "recent" AMD cards sounds good to me. I still haven't decided yet. I wonder if I should just stick with NVidia after installing MINT19.1, since that is the older card (GeForce GTX550 TI) I will be using till I pop for a "new" card...
