I tested the PC with a live Xfce edition and the touchpad didn't work. As I mentioned before, the touchpad isn't working with Windos as well.
Is there any other test I could do?
I suppose that it's a hardware problem, isn't it?

I'm afraid that it could be a hardware problem since now when the touchpad doesn't work it doesn't work even booting in Windows.

As soon as possible I'm going to make a test with a LinuxMint version on USBkey as you suggested me.

I would give additional information:
a few minute ago even with external mouse, I was able to move the pointer, but I couldn't select button or window...I could do it just by keyboard

Unluckily the problem raised again. I repeated the procedure rebooting in Windows and in Linux then I choose an older version of Kernel. Actually rebooting several times even in the last kernel, the touchpad is working fine except for a couple of time....I don't know exactly what happens.... Now it'...

Just a minute ago I booted the PC in Windows to verify that it wasn't a hardware problem.
In Windows the touchpad works fine.
Then I rebooted in Linux and now the touchpad is working.
So, just to understad, what could it be the problem?
