Re: LMDE2 bug reports? Segfault importing .ovpn files

Ah now that I missed. I read as far as no longer found and discounted it. My logic was along the lines of 'no longer found so it's hardly going to be re-found after being fixed / going away'. Lesson learnt, and back to Wheezy or Arch for now. I'll just have to hope it gets patched at last. Thanks ve...

Yeah I saw those but they are a year old and marked "No longer marked as found in versions network-manager/0.9.10.0-6.". :)

LMDE2 bug reports? Segfault importing .ovpn files

I've been a Mint user for a long time now (I notice my first posts here were in 2007 but I was a user beforehand). I'm posting here with apologies in advance, but I have found a pretty nasty bug which is also present upstream. When importing .ovpn files via NetworkManager's applet in Cinnamon or MAT...

Re: Removing Compiz, back to Metacity

Thanks very much guys. So obvious now you think about it. Last time I used the *buntus and Mint the appearance tab didn't have Visual Effects (it had its own menu entry as it still does in Fedora) so I didn't think to look there   All sorted now, thanks :)

Removing Compiz, back to Metacity

Hi guys, I used Mint v2 but left to Fedora 7 and 8 after that. No particular reason, I just tried Fedora and really liked it :) I'm back with Mint now for v4 and have just got it set up the way I like it. Ninan, lighttpd, Nvidia drivers etc. The only thing I can't find, which is generally blatantly ...

Thanks again all, especially Boo :D I'll install that when I get back home (I'm busy installing Mint on some machines for family - more converts!).

hi Rainmaker I just had the same problem. I ended up doing "gksu nautilus" in the console, to lunch a root filemanager. But after I read your post I thought their might be a different solution. And there is: Right click a folder and select "Open with other application..."¹ Expand "Use user defined...

For the benefit of anyone who might find this question via Search or Google etc; here's how I did it in Evolution 2.8.1 after creating three new mail folders as subfolders of Inbox (one for Hotmail, one for Gmail and one for my domain name mail): 1) Click "EDIT" (menu) 2) Message filters 3) Show fil...

"Open as Root" functionality in Gnome?

Hi guys, I'm LOVING Mint. So much in fact, that I've formatted my HD and removed my previous distro (which was in itself very, very good - so kudos, Mint). I only have one bugbear which is really spoiling my ability to fully enjoy the distro. I have done some reading around, and some playing with ol...

Hello, I believe the way to do that is to create a "filter" or a "rule" - I don't know how evolution calls them, I'm currently using Kontact in KDE - to move all messages received from a certain account (where you specify gmail, yahoo, etc) to a different folder; this folder is a normal folder whic...

I got the message that I didn't have sufficient permission to modify the file (root only permission). Mint (being Ubuntu based) is different to the RPM based distros I'm used to (like CentOS, PCLinuxOS etc) and won't allow me to "open as root" the directory or file, to make changes. I even opened T...

Great stuff, thanks! :) Just one question though: How do you make a new mail folder in Evolution? I don't just mean a new folder (File>New>Folder), but an actual new mail folder complete with it's own inbox, drafts, etc etc. I already have had to put my domain_name.com and GMail accounts into the on...
