What is going on with all these breaches?
I keep getting emails noting that linuxmint.com was hacked and information was leaked. Lifelock is going bonkers and haveibeenpwned seems to back this up as well. What's going on?! EDIT - I should note that it appears to only be a single breach, so my topic title is a bit misleading now that I have ...

Re: No system sounds - audio works for applications, though.
Everything appears to be fine... still no sound. If I click the little play/preview icons too - nothing.

Also, I just tried changing the sounds and I am unable to listen to those sounds as well.

No system sounds - audio works for applications, though.
For whatever reason, all sounds work GREAT on my system EXCEPT the sounds which appear in Sound > Sound Effects (logon sound, workspace switching, etc..) So I can hear youtube, music, everything else.. including the little "beeps and boops" from increasing or decreasing my volume. However,...

Re: No window decorations with themes?!
Nope, still the default! I'm wondering if the themes (all downloaded from the browser in the themes utility) simply do not include window decorations? I've searched around a bit and cannot seem to find any actual window decorations for cinnamon. Any links or guidance welcome!

No window decorations with themes?!
I'm using 17.1 - Cinnamon.
I downloaded a handful of themes and they are brilliant....save for the bland default window decorations. Do none of these themes change the windows to match the rest of the theme? I feel like this is just me be a newbie to Mint and obviously missing something.

New Windows / Terminal open in the top left - how to fix?
Whenever I open a new window, it defaults to opening in the top left. If I drag it elsewhere, close and reopen - it's back to the top left.
How can I change this to open windows either where they were last closed or in the center?
17.1 w/cinnamon

Re: How do I make the Workspace "switcher" more like Element
Hi Diener, I'm such a noob I probably shouldn't even chime in. I'm a Mac user dabbling in eOS and Mint KDE. I haven't been able to even figure out how to invoke workspaces in eOS Freya, but I'll take your word they did it in an elegant way. In Mint KDE, I was kind of mystified as well. Until I lear...

How do I make the Workspace "switcher" more like Elementary?
I'm sure we all have opinions on what is best and that's fine. I love Mint so far but I absolutely hate the ugliness of the workpace switching. I wish I was a Linux-guru and could figure out how to change the little things such as font or animation but alas, I cannot. I've used a handful of distros ...

Next, completely non-important question: is it possible to change the image from the usual (although nice) Linux Mint logo to something else?

Hi there
Just downloaded 17.1 Cinnamon - liking it so far.
Few issues here and there but mostly just pains of learning something new.

How do I fix my boot splash?
I installed 17.1 on my Dell Latitude 6520 via a live CD and it froze up twice. I found some tutorial on how to correct it (for Nvidia, specifically) which involved editing the boot... stuff. It worked and I was able to install it successfully. However, now I don't have a nifty boot splash with the M...
