Not able to install Printer connected to USB router
Hi guys, I have a HP Laser Jet P1102. It is installed on my computer so when I connect it directly with the USB everything is fine. Now I connected the USB directly to my router Bbox Fast5330b-r1 and in the setup page of the router I see the printer and all seems fine (however the page doesn't show ...

Re: Snapping tool
I think at that time I found the solution, but I don't remember what.
If not mistaken it was an extra simple software where you could set the size of the windows snapped and lots of stuff. but honestly I do not remember what it was .

Network manager doesn't start
I just updated the kernel from 4.18 to 5.00 and upon startup, the network manager doesn't start.
I have to manually give the command and then it works.
Any way I can check what's the problem?

Re: Converting VHS to digital
Hi overkill22, That is a bummer, perhaps you can send it back for a refund because Amazon.com is great with that? I would highly recommend getting a device like the one below that does not even require a computer to convert VHS and other video sources with video and audio cables (camcorders, etc......

Re: Converting VHS to digital
An update to this topic.
I bought a cheap converter card like this https://amzn.to/2ZvtcD6 and the result truly sucks. I've cleaned the VHS head but still the quality was really really low.
I'm still looking for an acceptable solution that won't cost me hundreds of dollars.

How can I change the selection colour?
I have mint 18.2 and would like to change the accent color.
At the moment it is blue, and it's the highlighting, and buttons highlight in nemo etc.
I can't find a way to change this setting system-wide.

Re: Update Manager, auto refresh options
You understand it correctly, or mostly: the first one runs after starting Update Manager, not boot, although that's usually the same thing. While you can and should set the "First" timer to all zero (0) to disable it, currently the second timer doesn't keep state, meaning it will start co...

Update Manager, auto refresh options
In Update Manager > Preferences > Auto-refresh there are few options, I'm not sure how they work. 1) First, refresh the list of updates after dd:hh:mm > is this related to every boot of the computer? Like, when you on the computer, it will check the updates after dd:hh:mm ? 2) Then, refresh the list...

It looks like when I OFF the screen with fn + f7 or with the power management settings > turn off screen when inactive for, it somehow keep something on behind the black screen. I'm having this problem only when the screen is turned off, not if I'm using the laptop or the screen is on with a static ...

Re: Burn in problem on the screen
After using the laptop for a while the problem goes away. That would tend to indicate the problems is not screen burn. Screen burn used to occur predominantly on CRT monochrome screens that displayed a largely static image all day every day. With the advent of colour screens the problems was minimi...

Re: Wifi 5GHz on linux mint 19
Normally the iw reg get will show 00 for a code which is generic and may limit what 5GHz channels are used, do iwlist chan to see what channels you can use, you may find the channel used by your router is not in the list and setting your country code might fix it I can't understand the results I'm ...

Re: Wifi 5GHz on linux mint 19
are you using a router that is dual band (both 2.4 and 5ghz compatiable?)...if so, have you accessed the router to see what is connecting with each device either 2.4 or 5? yes, the router is dual band and everything is set up correctly from that end. In fact I'm connected to the 5GHz with my phone....

Wifi 5GHz on linux mint 19
I have a laptop that should be compatible with the 5Ghz wifi (802.11ac if not mistaken), however I can't see any 5Ghz network in my network manager. I always overlooked at this but now I'd like to give a try and see if there's any difference. Is there anything I have to do to enable the 5Ghz? Networ...
