OS Gloria Question:

Hello,

Once Gloria is ready to go,how long should I wait for the fine folks at Ubuntu and Launchpad to clear up ninety five percent of the bugs?

I'd rather upgrade a week late than a week early.

Work Spaces

When I'm at the desktop the scroll wheel on the mouse keeps taking me to the four different work spaces.

It's not hurting anything that I can see. But is there a way to make it stop doing that and just select workspaces from the menu in the upper left corner?

Thanks.

Hello,

I was playing with the right click on the mint menu and by mistake took it off the bottom tray.

How do I get the Mint Menu to return to it's default setting?

Re: Reinstallation Options

Hello again,

Sadly,no.

It will deploy neither the live cd nor the auto installer.

Do I assume correctly that if I get to that point,I can simply overwrite the Mint portion and leave the Windows portion alone?

Re: Reinstallation Options

distoaddict, It is a separate installation. Part of the hard drive is XP. Another part is Mint. The Mint is NOT installed within the XP framework. Yes,I can boot into XP. May I infer that I would put mint for win into the XP system. Is that my only option? I downloaded the cd from a torrent----which...

Re: Please Help Me Correct Dumb Rookie Mistake

kansasnoob,

Thank you for the response. I had no problem booting, but I ran the code you suggested anyway. The next time I rebooted,it ran everything in order and it seems fine.

But the file I "fatal" ed is still gone.

So I'll keep trying.

Thanks again.

Reinstallation Options

Hello, I have Linux Mint and Windows XP Media Edition on the same hard drive. They are independent;the Linux Mint does not show on the "add/remove programs" function in XP. The rationale behind doing it that was to have the XP to use until I'm up to speed with Mint. Please understand that ...

Please Help Me Correct Dumb Rookie Mistake

Hello, In the hardware section, there is a sticky post about how to get Linux Mint to use a pci (or pci express) TV tuner. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing,I suppose, because I tried following the directions there, using the supplied keyboard shortcuts, without having learned Emacs first. I ended...

Re: internet radio?

Hello.

I linked through to http://www.theclassicalstation.org , from there to their listen page, and selected their MP-3 feed.

The movie player loaded it up and played it.

I did not try their Ogg Vorbis feed

Husse and All,

I apologize. I figured the (solved) was to prevent helpers from taking time to read my post. I got it half right.:-)

My guess is that someone at Linux Mint corrected a bug, because the next time I booted up,it worked perfecty
