Re: 19.2 Mate:- can i export list of installed applications?

Re: 19.2 Mate:- can i export list of installed applications?

Or see https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=252813&start=40#p1617187 Based on the same idea as gm10's solution. But will also filter out libs, kernels. And make the output of apt-get install a lot better readable. Improved version: outputfile="reinstall.sh" ; comm -23 <(apt-mark showma...

Re: 19.2:- latest Firefox update causing Main menu to outgrow screensize

Whatever may have caused the reported problem: Firefox cannot be blamed for it. The Firefox update cannot be blamed for it. My subject title is rather overly blaming .... Although a root cause has not yet been found. The problem did seem to start after the latest Firefox update and can be , tempora...

Re: 19.2:- latest Firefox update causing Main menu to outgrow screensize

I see you're using Mate. Do you or did you have Compiz enabled by any chance? That behavior sounds a lot like Compiz going wonky when you mess with a lot of the different settings. I've also seen Cairo dock do funny things too, do you have that installed? Hi, I recently noticed Compiz in the list o...

19.2:- Main menu outgrowing screensize

Hi, today, I noticed that my 19.2 Main menu was now larger than the screen so that the top items were not visible and could not be selected. I searched for a way of changing the menu size but without success. Looking at the Update history, the only recent updates were for Firefox. Screenshot at 2019...

Re: HOw to remove Intrusive ads on Android

I thought you were going to give instructions. Sorry, with hindsight, the subject is ambiguous.... I'll edit it.... ...

Advice please on :- How to remove Intrusive ads on Android

Hi,

have started getting full-screen 30s ads on my Samsung A5.

These MAY have started after downloading what3words; but uninstalling it has made no difference

I hear horror stories about "ad cleaners" so am looking for recommendations of what to do.

Cheers, Tony

I use the Favourites section of the main menu:- is there a way of reducing the icon size? Re: 19.1:- problem understanding folder permissions

Not a topic I know much about, but could the folder (or the whole USB HDD) have been mounted read only? Try sudo mount -o remount,rw /media/tony/DropBox_A to remount the media in read write mode. If not solved post output of mount |grep media Thanks for the suggestion, I will have time to try this ...
