Re: Mint 19 on Asus Transformer Book T101HA

Thanks, I'll give it a try ( Windows 10 is annoying me with its incessant reminders to update and then it refusing to "co-operate" in the update process)

How did you boot from the USB?

Re: saving Fslint configuration for future use

I've checked through .config and cannot find anything resembling fslint. Where else could it be stored please? To answer that I would have to go and read the source code. A quicker way for you to try and find it is to run the program from a clean start then search the .config directory to see if an...

Re: saving Fslint configuration for future use

It doesn't necessarily have to be in the .config folder, it could be in a hidden file or foilder of its own. But I'd be pretty damn surprised if it wasn't in one of your hidden user config files. You caould always check the home site (search engines are wqonderfuil things): https://www.pixelbeat.or...

Re: saving Fslint configuration for future use

Is there a way of saving the fslint config? Where is the config file? It will be in /home/$USER/.config , more than likely. The man page states: .SH PARAMETERS If [PATHS] are specified, they become the default search path, otherwise the current directory becomes the default. It seems to be an assum...

saving Fslint configuration for future use

I use FsLint quite often to identify duplicate files ( eg in photos) I find myself having to reset the "source" folder and the folders to be excluded every time. Is there a way of saving the fslint config? Where is the config file? Tony tony@tony-Latitude-E6430:~$ inxi -Fx System: Host: tony-Latitud...

Re: Veracrypt Trouble Creating Hidden Volume

I have been using VeraCrypt since the "demise" of TrueCrypt. Since upgrading to Linux Mint 19.1 last week , I am getting this same error ~50% of occasions when I open the non-hidden file container. When I re-try, it opens ok. Rgds, Tony PS i had posted this on the VeraCrypt site earlier today but it...

Re: Ivideon ip cam software for Linux

I simply added a gksu ppa and the ivideon ppa and it worked fine. Note that only the server part requires gksu, not the client. This is the ppa I used: https://launchpad.net/~mark-pcnetspec/+archive/ubuntu/gksu Keep in mind it is "unsupported" and "untrusted". Regards, Joe1962 Hi Joe, joining this ...

Have remounted drives as they were and successfully re-synced to Dropbox. I'll keep an eye on this issue and, when I do upgrade to 19.1, see if it is cured. Thanks for your continued support. Aaahh .. so Software manager shows software in the repos AND software installed separately through PPAs.

Live and learn.

Thanks for the clarification.

Re: VeraCrypt missing from 19.1 Software Manager (?)

Hi all,

I previously used to install as per AndyMH's comment and can do so in 19.1 as needed.

Just curious as the screen shot below of my installed 18.3 does seem to show VeraCrypt in its Software Manager

VeraCrypt missing from 19.1 Software Manager -- SOLVED

Hi, I'm running a live version of 19.1 so I can decide whether to bite the bullet and upgrade. I used to use VeraCrypt from 18.x Software Manger but this now seems missing from 19.1? If so, is there a reason for its removal? Thanks, Tony ================ As background:- I'm considering upgrade due t...
