Re: Xreader annotations are missing when I email a PDF

HI, from following WallyUSA's link, I tried Okular which complained about un-supported XFA fields in my PDF. I then tried Master PDF which supports XFA fields; I sent a test file to friends who use Adobe and Office ... and it opens fine. Have edited my original file using Master-PDF and sent it to t...

Re: Xreader annotations are missing when I email a PDF

@Boca please try saving the your annotated file with a slightly different name. I had this problem once when I was in the M/S world using a 3rd party PDF reader. Thanks for the tip, I had tried that when the first version couldn't be read and I sent a second version with _V2 appended to the name......

Re: Xreader annotations are missing when I email a PDF

Hi Xenopeek, apologies that I wasn't very clear; by annotations I meant that I had completed form fields on the pdf. I do not know what PDF reader the recipient is using; it's a London city firm so I had assumed they would be using a high-end package and that the problem was at my freeware end :( :(...

Solved - Xreader annotations/filled-data fields are missing when I email a PDF

Hi, I am trying to complete a form which was sent to me by PDF. I opened/edited/saved the form using Xreader 1.6.2 ( which is the latest version in Software Manager) On my screen, it contains my data and can be opened and closed but, when the recipient opens it, they only see the form itself with no...

Re: Top panel missing

Hi Flemur, I had realised that inxi -Fxz would provide way more info than needed but thought more was better than less. I know from (in-)experience that It can be confusing to know what info is required, by others, to assist. The "details! details" section of Help recommends inxi -Fxz and , I think,...

Re: Top panel missing

Hi,

not sure which version of Mint you are running; can you please run " inxi -Fxz" in a terminal and then paste the result back here.

I am running 18.3; if I right-click on the Notification Area, it gives me the option to have this displayed at the top.

Hope that helps.

Rgds, Tony

Hi Lazarus, thank you for your help and suggestions. I tried those but still could not get Dropbox to allow me to use sdb1 as its home. I'm very nervous about screwing up dropbox and losing data; I'm going to investigate a larger internal hard drive and/or new pc. Thank you anyway. Regards, Tony th...

Re: New Disk format requirements for using DropBox

I have also received this notice from DropBox and see no reason for them to REQUIRE an ext4 formatted file system for their folder. My searches on this topic appear to indicate that they will be requiring use of extended attributes to support their new release. I have no intention of reformatting m...

Re: New Disk format requirements for using DropBox

I tried those but still could not get Dropbox to allow me to use sdb1 as its home. I don't know anything about dropbox but when changing the folder location, are you actually typing in sdb1? Because that would be wrong. You need to point to where you mounted the sdb1 partition in your filesystem, a...

New Disk format requirements for using DropBox

Apologies if this is viewed as cross-posting but I feel out of my depth in this thread ]https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=275504#p1511316. Re: New Dropbox System Requirements

I've also had the email from Dropbox but am unsure of my next steps. They seem to be insisting on ext4 format but, in the detail, they comment on the consequences of an external HDD not being connected at startup and the risk of deleted files from every instance of DropBox Does the move to ext4 elim...

Re: Mint on 2 in 1 devices

Waynus, I am in a similar position wanting to buy a 2-in-1 tablet/notebook for travel and keen to avoid Windoze. Long story short, I have ended up with a ASUS Transformer T101H which will run a live version of Mint Mate 19. However, there are some issues with the touchpad and screen orientation whic...
