Can't get past the password: LiveUSB 18.1 and dwm

Hello,

I'm trying to check out dwm using Serena LiveUSB, but when I select dwm the login won't accept the blank password. I do I get past this?

I've also found a few others. However, when I change the method to manual, the save button becomes inactive. Also, instead of editing an existing connection/profile can I create a new 'static' profile?

I have Linux Mint Xfce 17.1 installed. Today while trying to check out an OS on a Live USB and I realized I can no longer boot from USB or the DVD drive. I have booted from both USB and DVD (a few months ago). My notebook boots into Grub and the UEFI/EFI manager is listed, but the boot order section...
