it's a grub issue and I'm afraid you can't fix it on LMDE yet. you'll need to manually change the bootloader on boot to choose which OS should be loaded. Perhaps I should make the Windows 8.1 bootloader the default and not use Grub? Thoughts? the problem is that you can't make window's bootloader t...

Black screen after Grub menu on liveUSB

So immediately after the LMDE liveUSB proceeds past the Grub menu it will go to a black screen. Then the screen well turn off, then back on but still with a black screen. I do have a problem still with a high-pitched whine in the headset though, but maybe another post is needed to fix that?

So you basically had to edit the code of the driver to get this working for me?

yea, i figured out it was just a typo.

So I finished it all, rebooted, and still can not see my BT headset :(

Sorry. I should have been more specific: the hdd/ssd indicator light (aka hard drive activity light) is not indicative of actual activity because I checked it with IOTOP.
