Yeah, Ithought as much. But I've been digging around and this bug seems to stem from Ubuntu. I recall reading in some forum of a user with similar troubles and he was runnig the latest ubuntu. OK. Reporting back. Both my passwd and sudoers files are excatly as the above. I have noticed that when I use mintassitant to activate root account, the change doesn't stick, i.e, when I run mintassistant a second and third time, it shows me that the root account is disabled. I have tried sudo su on...

Nothong like dropping down to the command line and seeing that it was lloking for a JVM, JRE or JDK up until 5. I had version 6 installed... Installing version 5 solved this problem.

You got it right... But that doesn't work in Grysnc.... Have you tried doing via the command line. It's not that dificult to do. What errors show up? Let me see if I understand... You have one desktop with linux mint acting as a Samba server and two laptops that connect to your samba share. What exactly do you want to rsync? The samba share to a backup drive? Or do you want to mount the share on the laptops? Say you wanted to rsync from the Bianc...
