Boo has just added Katya KDE i386 to the ISO Images section of the Community Testing web site. Both Clem and Exploder have indicated that they will be testing it this weekend.

Re: Hidden icons on panel
There is a program called AllTray in the repos. I have not used it, but it is supposed to allow you to add programs to the system tray, and minimize them there as well.

Re: Mint 11 KDE development
Wicd is available in the repos for those who wish to use it. However, wicd does not yet have vpn support, so IMO it should not be the default network manager.

Re: Can't change Synaptic fonts in LM10 KDE RC
Linux Mint 10 KDE RC has been running well for me after a bit of minor tweaking but I have this problem with the Synaptic Package Manager. Synaptic has never followed system font settings in KDE but this could easily be solved by setting custom font settings within the Synaptic application itself v...

Re: Linux Mint 10 KDE
I also wonder if LibreOffice will replace OpenOffice as the default in this edition I hope not...... I'm curious - why not? Did you try LibreOffice and find something you didn't like about it? I have not yet tried LibreOffice myself, but everything I have read about it says that it is very hard to ...

Re: Linux Mint 10 KDE
Clem is back on track... but now maybe a slight delay to update to KDE 4.6. might as well be the first. all in favour say "I" well since me, myself and I make a majority 4.6 wins LOL Ahhh, as I suspected. I support this decision because, if it results in only a minor additional delay, why...

Re: Linux Mint 10 KDE
As of Isadora, this is no longer true. In the Mint Blog of May 1st, 2010 titled "News update", Clem wrote, "Community Editions: No more references will be made to “CE”s. These editions will now become official and efforts will be made for them to be released as early in the release c...

Re: Linux Mint 10 KDE
The truth is that Linux Mint Main edition (Gnome) is their "flagship" product and it's not released until it's ready. All the other versions are Community Editions... As of Isadora, this is no longer true. In the Mint Blog of May 1st, 2010 titled "News update", Clem wrote, "...

Re: Linux Mint 10 KDE
Hmmmmmmmmmm 6 days and no sign of Clem. That has happened before when he goes hard core on some coding. And then he just pops up with a new app. Time to dig further. Cheers Jamie Actually, yesterday (January 28th) in the Linux Mint Blog, in Response #13 under "MintCast Interview", Clem wr...

Re: Linux Mint 10 KDE
Is it possible that Clem and Boo might be considering whether to update KDE to version 4.6 before the final release, and that is what is causing the delay in approval?

Clem now KDE edition maintainer?
I noticed on the ISO Images testing page that Clem is now shown as the maintainer of the Julia KDE edition. In the past Jamie_Boo has always been listed as the KDE maintainer. Has something happened that has caused Boo to give over the job to Clem?

LM9KDE won't boot without external USB drive being connected
I use an external USB hard drive for backups for my laptop. When traveling recently, I did not bring the USB drive with me, and when I booted into Isadora KDE I got this message: "The disk drive for /media/Data_Backup is not ready yet or not present" "Continue to wait; or Press S to s...

No offense, I just hope you sent the same thing along to KDE as you posted here. If not, here is their Forum URL: http://forum.kde.org/index.php?sid=92f2fff7ff419bf04d9aa133767ed114 Bob, I wanted to post my experience in this forum so that other Mint users who might be contemplating upgrading to KD...

KAddressBook 4.4 - important features have been removed
Well, I decided to take a look at KDE 4.4, so I backed up my installation of Helena KDE 4.3.5 and then updated my system to KDE 4.4.1. After spending 10 minutes with KAddressBook 4.4, I wiped the partition and reinstalled 4.3.5. I don't know what purpose was served by almost completely gutting KAddr...

Re: Has anyone installed Firefox 3.6 on Helena KDE?
Thanks, exploder and feed3. Apparently, out of the 93 (so far) people who have viewed this topic, you two are the only ones who have tried this.
Personas don't interest me, and other than that there's not a lot in FF3.6 that I can't do with FF3.5.8, so I think I will hold off for now.

Has anyone installed Firefox 3.6 on Helena KDE?
Either by using Ubuntuzilla or any other way? I've read of some people who have installed Firefox 3.6 on Karmic and then had to roll back to 3.5.8 due to some problems, and I was wondering if anyone here has had any such issues.

Re: Mint icon for Kickoff menu
Copy the file to a easy directory or place say the desktop then right click the kickoff menu and select "application launcher settings", left click the icon icon(that looks daft typing that), select "other icons" check box (or circle) and browse to where you placed the icon. And...

Re: Mint icon for Kickoff menu
I sure wish there were a way to make the Mint icon the default for the launcher. I hate the Kickoff menu and always switch to the Classic menu, but you can't edit favorites in Classic, you have to switch back and forth to Kickoff to do that, and every time you do the icon changes back to KDE. Does a...
