Re: Wifi becomes unusably slow after Stand by
Thanks for your reply! Can't be sure it will help, but your machine is new enough to try a higher kernel. Install the 6.5 kernel in Update Manager, View, Linux Kernels & reboot. Right... I was not really aware thats supposed to be done :? Should have thought about this earlier maybe... Installed...

Re: [solved] Is there a way to tame systemd-resolved in Split DNS Setup?
I disable ipv6 entirely so far...Unless you have a definite need for it, of course. Detailed info on how: https://itsfoss.com/disable-ipv6-ubuntu-linux/ Disabling IPv6 is not the right way. The number of IPv6 only hosts is rising due to IPv4 shortage. The number of IPv6 only clients is also rising....

Re: Is there a way to tame systemd-resolved in Split DNS Setup?
looks like something's running DoH (DNS over HTTPS) queries instead of what you want. Just ran into that myself with a firefox update. Fix was to tell FF to not try resolving things with DoH Thanks for your reply. Your comment made me very curious and sent me down a 2 hour debugging rabbit hole. 1....

[solved] Is there a way to tame systemd-resolved in Split DNS Setup?
Update : it seems I found the root cause - maybe don't bother reading all this and have a look at the solution first to understand the actual problem faster. Hi, I'm having a kind of a problem with my Split DNS Setup for quite some time now and now it got so bad, I can't just accept it any longer. ...

Re: Undo Flash-Player Removal
Thanks for the Link! But I did not attempt to install it. Today even on my Laptop with a remaining Flash installation AdobeConnect refused to run due the hardcoded kill switch on January 12, 2021. And still AdobeConnect tries to run on Flash. Its a pile of bullsh*t software. My Solution is actually ...

Undo Flash-Player Removal
Guys, i know flash sucks. I hate it, too. Apparently i need it and i did not pay attention when installing the Adobe-Flash removal/transitional package this week. Is there some way to undo this? I need to use Adobe-Connect  (yes, it is absolutely ridiculous that adobe officially EOLs flash but...

Re: Linux Mint 19.2 Session gets OOM-killed overnight
Thursday now... I have gone back to my behaviour of keeping everything open when i leave office. Luckily, the OOM Killer has not come back since i changed this parameter in the VirtualBox Settings for this Virtual Machine. I think it is safe to assume that this was the reason for this - if not i'll ...

Re: Linux Mint 19.2 Session gets OOM-killed overnight
So... Monday... back to work :-) I kept Firefox open over the weekend (+ Gajim). Apart from a Gajim Error message, everything was as i left it on Friday. I guess it was the Graphic-Card Setting in VirtualBox. I will monitor this for a few days and then update my initial post with this information as...

Re: Linux Mint 19.2 Session gets OOM-killed overnight
Update. Just came into the office and the XOrg session was NOT killed this time. I closed Firefox and Thunderbird over night and as i wrote yesterday, i had changed the graphics driver setting in the VirtualBox setting to match the settings of my OldVM that didn't have this problem (but was a mint 1...

Re: Linux Mint 19.2 Session gets OOM-killed overnight
Yes, it was again XOrg that was killed. I will check back tomorrow and see what "evidence" i can catch after logging in. The VM is actually not suspended. It is just the Screen that is locked. I leave the host (laptop) running over night and it also just locks the screen. Thanks for your h...

Re: Linux Mint 19.2 Session gets OOM-killed overnight
So. I quit firefox before leaving the system overnight. I came back and still OOM Killer was active last night :( I still have my old Mint 19.1 VM and compared settings. I noticed some difference in GraphicsController - no idea whether this is the reason. I had n't had this problem with the old VM, ...

Re: Session gets killed after lock screen was active
Small bump with an Update: i have the feeling that this only happens, when i have my laptop in its docking station and it is connected to my monitor. When i have it running "on the go" and the screen locks, this never happened sofar. But when it is docked, the reproducibility of this is al...

HP CP: Mint 19 does not let me print in Color, Mint 18.3 does!?
Hi, i have a HP CP1215 laser printer connected to my Odroid SBC. The Odroid runs CUPS and shares the printer in the network. From my old retired Linux Mint 18.3 laptop i can print easily in colored mode, the Mint Printer Test Page comes out of the printer in full color. Also the Colored toner does n...
