Got SIM/phone number that expires soon. What online accounts require SMS verification?wanna use SIM/phone# while i can.

I just got a prepaid SIM. It will expire next year. What are some online accounts / apps that require verification from a mobile number (VOIP numbers are rejected)? I don't want my phone number to go unused for online registration. For example, if I create (additional) gmail accounts, it asks for a ...

To former US college students with a Google-powered account, how long until your account expired?

Has anybody here gone to college and received a student account powered by Google? By that I mean, did you get a dot edu account with ot gmail/google Drive/google calendar? If so, how many years after you took your last semester before your Google Account was deactivated? Or do you get to keep your ...

Okay, thanks for humouring me, it was worth a try. Then adding it to your favourites is probably the easiest solution.
I'll just search for "Firefox" :)

I may not be very human or regular then. Seven items is a short list and clicking the last entry isn't that much harder than clicking the first one. Or you could add it to your favourites and not search at all. Other idea: Have you tried searching for 'tor ', so with a space after it? "T...

Re: I added the Firefox Tor bundle to my Mint Menu. Why is it 7th in the list when iI search for "tor"?

You want him to... fix the alphabet? It's not a bug. There is nothing to fix. If you want it to come out on top (even if I can't understand why that matters) then change the name. Easy-peasy. Moem, The search results should give us what we humans expect. We humans should not "fix' things (i.e....

Re: I added the Firefox Tor bundle to my Mint Menu. Why is it 7th in the list when iI search for "tor"?

Because of the alphabet. To change this, change the name in the menu so it starts with A. 8) Hi Moem. Thanks for your response. I do see the logic now. You're right, it's alphabetical. Imagine if Google listed search results like that. Ha ha. Mr. Clem, if you hear this (don't think so), please fix ...

MintyBoy,

Your link seems to talk about Item Order in Cinnamon Menu or submenus. I'm talking about searching within the menu.

Re: How to protect privacy from a router that logs websites visited

@xenopeek has pointed out that a VPN is the simplest way to keep your ISP from invading your privacy . If you have router provided by your ISP then you have almost zero control of it , and any non-VPN traffic that passes through it . They will always do what is best for them , and not you ! If mone...

I downloaded Firefox Tor bundle and added the program to my Mint Menu. Why, when I type "tor", is it 7th in the list?

The more important question: How can I make Firefox Tor browser the top result when i type "tor"?

Re: How to protect privacy from a router that logs websites visited

I doubt anybody is going to share with you their website logs. Wasn't the topic at hand about privacy? :) They don't have to share logs about their private internet activity. I was requesting them to share their logs with my example searches/URLs. If you don't want your router to log information ab...

Question 1 I can easily understand how it logs the website addresses that you visit in a web browser, whether on a desktop/laptop or mobile. In my laptop Firefox, I have gmail in one tab. Shouldn't the quote mark go to the right of (x86)?

wine /home/frozenthermometer/.wine/drive_c/"Program Files (x86)”/Freephoneline/Freephoneline.exe

richyrich,
thank you for your reply. But I'm not asking specifically about wget. I'm wondering also if I can control this on a higher level (and not on a per-program level)?
