Lots of files were corrupted and ...

NTFS partition files get corrupted after W10 boot!
Hello everyone, I run Linux Mint 18.3 64bits and have W10 on dual boot. Everything was working well until I installed an automatic update of Windows last month. Since that day, my NTFS partition refused to mount automatically. This happened 1 year ago and was caused by the hibernation settings of wi...

Re: NFS permission denied on some folders
Hi and thank you for your answer. Sorry but can I change the file permission for these random folders? On my NAS, I have set global read-write permission to the parent folder, and allowed the relevant IP addresses in the NFS rights. PS: we have a common "art" collection with my son

[Solved] Impossible to start session after SSD migration
Hi all, I bought a new SSD and tried to transfer my existing Linuxmint installation made of a root and home partitions. I copy/pasted the / partition via Gparted (and assigned a new UUID because it copied the former UUID as well), and I performed a simple copy/paste of the /home/account folder via a...

Re: Need help compiling TP Link dual band wifi drivers
Hi,
I already tried make clean && make. I also tried to delete the driver folder, and unzip it again.
With lsusb the wifi adapter does not appear, which is normal as it did the same under kernel 3.13.0-37 before installing the driver.

Need help compiling TP Link dual band wifi drivers
Hi all, I have bought this USB wifi adapter, for which Linux drivers are provided. http://www.tp-link.com/en/download/Archer-T4UH.html#Driver I run Linux Mint 17.2 64bits and had to install kernel 3.13.0-37-generic to properly install this driver. However this kernel is highly unstable and I had to ...

Re: Cannot share NTFS partition on samba
It works, awesome !
Thanks a lot
Now I understand this is the quick and dirty way to do, and anyone connecting to my network would access all the shared drives.
What is the clean way to restrict access to some sensitive folders only to authorised devices (Android, Linux and Windows...)?

Cannot share NTFS partition on samba
Hi all, I have followed many tutorials and configuration of /etc/samba/smb.conf but nothing works, I cannot share any drive that is formatted in NTFS. I don't know why it remains so complicated to do such basic things in Linux in 2015, especially when anyone can do that in a couple of seconds since ...
