You have to format the partition you like to mount / in btrfs. You may format /home too. Then let the installer mount the partitions and install. That is how I got my my Mint 19.1 .
If it would be that simple there would have been no need to create this thread. ;)

Re: Grub error installing Mint19 64bit version on BTRFS?

Because my friends had problems installing Mint 19 with BTRFS I tried to record a video showing the essential parts: https://peertube.social/videos/watch/faa4649a-0371-4d82-b1c9-f00874e68e68 (I know it is not very straight forward but maybe an interesting perspective for the Mint devs how common use...

Re: Mint 19 on Asus Transformer T100?

Update: I've tried a Debian Multi-Arch ISO which works perfectly (except the fact that a Debian does not recognizes a wifi adapter so I can not finish the installation). Anyway, I think the look&feel of Linux Mint would be much better for the owning user of the Asus T100 that's why I thought to use...

Re: [SOLVED] Thunderbird 60 has no Calendar

Thank you so much saljut7 !!! You are welcome, but I just modified Hendrick's post. Thx to Hendrick! ;) If I hadn't found this post of yours, I was on the verge of ditching Thunderbird forever. Damn Mozilla. Firefox has been causing me greif and frustration for a couple of months now, and now it's ...

Re: Thunderbird 60 has no Calendar

Saw this in another topic (works great): - Install the new version of Thunderbird - then: sudo install xul-ext-lightning - then: start Thunderbird and remove the Lightning add-on - then: close Thunderbird and restart Thx Hendrick, for an existing Thunderbird60 under Mint19 you just need to: sudo ap...

Thunderbird 60.1, when it is released, will be the updatable version after testing by the Linux Mint Team but not version 60.
Means: TB60 was not tested by the Linux Mint Team?

Re: Thunderbird 60 has no Calendar

The TB60 version on my Debian9 system has no problems with the lightning extension (Lightning 6.2). Is the TB version of Ubuntu/Mint so different in comparison to the Debian package?

Re: Multi-arch installer for LMDE?

I would go with the standard Ubuntu Mint - even more newbie friendly. As I explained I tried this but it is not possible to install the current Ubuntu/Mint on an ASUS Transformer T100 because of the 32bit bootloader/64bit CPU problem (compare https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=276353...

Multi-arch installer for LMDE?

Hi, I wanted to install Linux Mint on an Asus Transformer T100 (so the "nice" situation to have a 32bit bootloader and a 64bit CPU). I didn't get it running with Linux Mint and the people of the Mint forum don't seem to have more ideas. I tried to boot a multi-arch Debian9 which works fine. I could ...

Re: Mint 19 on Asus Transformer T100?

Your grub.cfg should be something like: menuentry "Start Linux Mint 19 MATE 64-bit" { set gfxpayload=keep linux /casper/vmlinuz boot=casper iso-scan/filename=${iso_path} initrd /casper/initrd.lz } Thx, I've replaced the content of efi/boot/grub.cfg with the one of your template. Unfortunately I got...

Re: Mint 19 on Asus Transformer T100?

Thanks for your help. I tried both, the linked tutorial and yours (which seems slightly different for me from the linked one). I can boot into the stick but I end up in "Unable to find a medium containing a live file system" (I've already checked the sha256sum of the downloaded linuxmint-19-xfce-64b...

Ignore grub-efi-ia32. Copy bootia32.efi only and test.
Now rEFInd recognizes the installation stick:

Unfortunately I get: "Error: Not Found while loading bootia32.efi"

Re: Mint 19 on Asus Transformer T100?

Sorry I'm still confused: I've download https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/i386/grub-efi-ia32/download and get grub-efi-ia32_2.02-2ubuntu8_i386.deb which contains: data.raz.xz control.tar.xz debian-binary There is a file grub-efi-ia32 in data.raz.xz/usr/share/doc/ but this seems to be a symlink. How...

Re: Mint 19 on Asus Transformer T100?

If I correctly understand, the problem is that you cannot boot liveUSB. Exactly. One option could be copy grub-efi-ia32 and bootia32.efi into liveUSB's /EFI/BOOT folder. Thank you, for the "script kiddies" like me: The right grub-efi-ia32 for Mint 19 would be https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/grub...
