I too would like to see this (although I got the functionnality through stardock's fences, which would also be completely awsome to have in mint!)

Same here on an IPC2, first session logins were blazing fast but after configuring my desktop a bit more I started to experience the same thing (>30s!). Sadly I don't have the skills to debug it :/
