Re: Stuck at logo; disk damage?

UPDATE: was able to create a bootable usb with Kubuntu which the system recognized. Right on the first menu that appeared, I chose a disk verification. There was a blinking cursor at the top of a black screen and now there is only the black screen. No idea if the laptop is actually doing something. ...

Stuck at logo; disk damage?

Hi A Lenovo 110s with Linux Mint 19.3 suddenly couldn't go beyond the LM logo. Thought it was an issue after an update; tried booting from other kernels through Grub2 but same result. After some research, it seems that the disk might have errors/be damaged. Rebooted in recovery mode from de differen...

Re: Blueman bluetooth stops responding

You will need to use synaptic package manager to do it. Find the package, then there is a menu option on the main window called "Force Version". Once you downgrade it, update manager will see that there is an upgrade and want to upgrade it. You will want to uncheck that if this works. Don...

Re: Blueman bluetooth stops responding

Not sure of what chip you are running, that said I found an issue with the linux_firmware v1.172.13 & 1.172.14 where it was causing HCI timeouts. I had to downgrade back to .12 in order for bluetooth to work. Thanks sudowhammy. I'll look into that. But what is a linux_firmware? how to I downgra...

Re: Blueman bluetooth stops responding

Hi rodrigs, did you try connecting other BT speaker to your laptop and test again? Not sure if it's the problem of the BT connection on your laptop since the Tribit speakers work great with your phone. Exactly. I was guessing it would be the laptop since the BT speaker works in my phone. But I conn...

Re: Blueman bluetooth stops responding

No. I don't have Tlp installed. I searched for it in Software Manager and it was not installed. I don't have any clues on how to solve this. And I lack basic knowledge on terminal commands and terminology that could make it easier to venture in trying different things. I reported an issue at github ...

Re: Blueman bluetooth stops responding

Thanks for passing by, MrEen.

I was able to remove the device that didn't seem to respond. But it didn't solve the issue of the blueman freezing 1 minute after connecting to the speaker.

Re: Blueman bluetooth stops responding

Hi MrEen I can't understand much of what I see there, but the last line in my results Can't read local name on hci0: Connection timed out (110) might tell something relevant. I do have a device that shows in the bluetooth manager which I can't remove. It results blueman.bluez.errors.DBusNotReadyErro...

Hi Mr Een. Thanks for showing up. Applied your suggestion. Testing as I write: - Connected the bluetooth speaker with blueman and it worked well for a few seconds, maybe a minute, when it got silent. The sound preferences in the applet that comes with mint shows the video is playing through the BT sp...

Blueman bluetooth stops responding

Hi. I wasn't able to use my bluetooth speakers (tribit max boom) in my laptop (Lenovo 110s), even though they work well on my phone and other laptops. I uninstalled blueberry and installed blueman, and installed PAVU also, as several posts suggested. Still no success. The bluetooth is on when the la...

Re: Issues with nvidia graphics card

I also applied a code in the terminal

Code: Select all

wget -N -t 5 -T 10 https://github.com/UbuntuForums/wireless-info/raw/master/wireless-info && chmod +x wireless-info && ./wireless-info
that obtained this: https://anotepad.com/notes/7gd4je
if it is of any use. I can't take much info from it.

Re: Issues with nvidia graphics card

Hi Preston! Really glad you are here. The Wifi and your optimus setup are 2 different issues, best keep them apart. Installed nvidia-prime-applet and it shows that the Nvidia driver is the active one at the moment. I was never sure what the real nature of this conflict between nvidia optimus cards a...

Re: Solve boot problems with AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards

I installed Linux Mint in a Lenovo with Nvidia Geforce. As soon as it showed issues, I suspected it would be included in this category of boot problems with AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards. I rebooted from the usb and edited the GRUB menu "quiet splash" to "nomodeset". Though the b...
