Need help to install Microtek Scanner

I am running Mint 18.2. I am wanting to install a Microtek ScanMaker 3800 scanner. Microtek only provides drivers for Windows and Macs. I found linux drivers for a 3600 model but I don't know if they will work. Here is the link for the drivers: https://sourceforge.net/projects/sm3600/?source=navbar ...

Re: Slow start up?

Thank you for the explanation on removing the cache. I will proceed to do that.

I don't have any peripherals on the laptop so that's not slowing it.

Thanks again.

(Solved)---BleachBit?

I'm just wondering the software program BleachBit is safe and effective to use on Mint to remove unnecessary files.

What is the prevailing view on this?

Thanks

Re: Desktop Icon Arrangement

I figured out why I only have one line of type under each icon on my desktop. I had reduced the size of the desktop icon to 26. Any size smaller that 40 yields only one line of type. I still have not been able to figure out why the icons do not stay put when I do a restart. I would appreciate some h...

Re: Desktop Icon Arrangement

I can't reproduce your problem on a clean 18.2 Xfce install. The icons stay where I put them and the names automatically flow over two lines if they're long. Have you changed the default window manager from "Xfwm4+Compositing"? I have not changed the default. It is still set as "Xfwm...

Desktop Icon Arrangement

I have the Xfce desktop on Mint 18.2. When I arrange my Icons on my desktop, they do not stay in these locations after I reboot the computer. How do I get them to remain in the place where I put them? Also, is it possible to have two lines of the title for each icon rather than just one so you can s...

Re: Slow start up?

At the end of your dmesg output there is a long delay as the computer is trying to resolve the Wi-Fi driver (Broadcom). Thanks for the help. Have a look in the Driver Manager program to see what drivers you have activated. Try a wired connection to your modem to see if it boots faster without Wi-Fi...

I will run dmesg in the terminal. Could I post the results for interpretation?
