fruitkiller i needed to reboot to see the changes to mate weather applet and clock applet.

Does anyone know where I can find the libmateweather applet and how I can get it on my panel. I don't mind doing the work, but I don't know where to start. awesome friday we got are weather applet back! i had to reboot so i can see the changes in clock applet.

clock applet does show a bit of info on weather hover over the tempareture

:lol: i run backups every 3 hours or less on my machines, but never back up system config :oops: im going to ask for a feature for aptik, aptik backs up fstab at least now. lazy lazy lazy! :lol: ill check out nitroshare too, maybe it is a great option! test test test!

wow never tried the weather applet until today very nice and minimal, it would be even nicer if it was embedded into clock applet. nice to know i can see the temperature outside in clock applet again!! woot!

i dont think nitroshare will work for me, but thanks for sharing never heard of nitroshare. i would like something minimal, and i think ssh is the best option for me now. since i can do more than just share files i can remotely operate through terminal. before i used ssh for vnc/remmina so ill get b...

seems kind of odd, using caja with superuser rights, i cannot change the settings for root. in mint 17.x it was no problem, run caja as root, go to its settings and change icon to compact. it would save but not anymore. i think i got it fixed only time can tell. i removed ~/.cache/dconf/ ~/.config/c...

i came from photoshop also, i have mastered gimp, does everything i need. youtube is the way to go. there are a few courses out there too. but the only way i learn sometimes is getting my feet wet! inkscape is hard AF :lol: have very limited usage, but will get up to speed eventually Lynda - Inkscap...

made the mistake back in october and played counter strike source, not i cant gtfo. i play way to much. insurgency is good too if you like rainbow six games.

im currently building an off-site cold data storage instead of using spideroak. i dont trust any cloud service including browser clouds that save your passwords or bookmarks.

luckybackup is an excellent backup app, easy to use and also in standard repos, no need for ppa. rsync with a gui. it also has scheduling!!!

yes, just burn the iso to a usb flash drive or dvd. and boot it to test out. you dont need to install anything. you can also use virtualbox to give any linux distro a spin, and you can try out the install process if you like in virtualbox without making changes to your current OS.
