Deleting update from Mozilla Firefox Update Manager

How do I delete an update from the Mozilla Firefox Update Manager? I no longer want this update, and have tried to clear it from the update manager but nothing happened. (I clicked on the update I no longer wanted, then clicked "clear" and nothing happened.) Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Adobe Flash update or alternative

Pheeble and Cosmo, Okay, I THINK I got it solved. After doing what I said in my above answer, I restarted my computer and FF and tried one of my troublesome .pdf files that would open only part way (page 1 of the document came up, but not page 2) and it opened all the way. I then tried it on my husb...

Re: Adobe Flash update or alternative

Pheeble and Cosmo, Okay, this is weird (at least to me). I did have a PDF viewer, but was told by Cosmo to disable it since that might be the problem. In FF 58.0.2 I don't have "File, Edit, View...". But I finally found my Preferences under the Menu icon in the upper right-hand corner. When I clicke...

Re: Adobe Flash update or alternative

Pheeble, Firefox can download .pdf files without any add-on required. You can set Firefox's behaviour for .pdf files in Edit->Preferences->Applications. There is a list with two columns, 'Content Type' and 'Action'. Scroll down the list to find content type 'PDF Document'. If you click on the Action...

Re: Adobe Flash update or alternative

Okay, sorry about the mix up. Was told some time ago that Flash is what lets me download, and open .pdf files. Guess that person was wrong. Have checked my file manager, and have no file called .mozilla. (Perhaps this is the problem?) But I do have files called firfox 56.0.tar,bz2 and 57.0.4.tar.bz2...

Re: Adobe Flash update or alternative

Thanks for the quick response. Check the add-on manager, but Flash is not there; here's what it lists: OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco, and, Shockwave Flash (is that the one I should disable?) And Shockwave Flash does not give me the alternative of disabling it, only "Ask to activate, Always ...

Hello. I have linux Mint Rebecca 17.3, 64 bit, Cinnamon version 2.8.8, Linux Kernal 3.13.0-37-generic, and my browser is Moxilla FireFox (not sure which version). I am in need of an update for Adobe Flash or an alternative. I tried researching this, both in the internet, and here in the Forums, but ...

Re: Welcome Ladies - post here :)

Hello. Haven't been around for a while, as most things were working fine, or I eventually figured them out. But am coming up with new problems, so thought I should get back and get some help.

Windows calls

I hope this is the right place to put this. ADMIN: If I have posted in the wrong place, please move this. About a year-and-a-half to two years ago I found out about Linux Mint, and that I would no longer need security programs, etc, and, that I would be able to get rid of Windows (which I didn't par...

Re: Any Gimp gurus here? Gimp is stuck..

Does this happen in a new image, or just one you've opened? Whenever I've found I can't edit anything in GIMP it's usually due to be doing some sort of selection in the image which I forgot about - try Ctrl-Shift-a to deselect everything. Hello Ranthe, Finally got to try Ctrl-Shift-a, but it didn't...

Hello. Thanks for asking; no, opening a JPEG doesn't do any good either. If I do, it will open fine, but no changes are made, even when GIMP was working fine.

Re: Any Gimp gurus here? Gimp is stuck..

Yeah, I guess I should have been more explanatory -- -- I can go into Gimp and open an .xcf image, but that's it. I can't make any changes, of any sort. But when I try, to say change a color in an area, and nothing happens, I give up and close, getting a window asking if I want to save the changes. ...

Re: Any Gimp gurus here? Gimp is stuck..

No, sorry. Neither of these ideas is helping. I guess I'm just going to have to take it back where I bought it from (they put Linux on for me) and let them take care of it. Thanks for trying to help.

Re: Any Gimp gurus here? Gimp is stuck..

Hey are there any Gimp gurus out there? I have the latest version of LinuxMint, 17.1, my GIMP Image Editor is stuck and I can't do anything with it/change any images, though I used it only 3 or 4 days ago. I have done the latest updates to my system, but that didn't help. Can anyone tell me how to g...

Re: Simple, Intuitive Paint (image editing) software

I am also having trouble with GIMP, though the stuff I need to do is a little more involved (cut and crop, resize, and change images in the various other ways). I worst problem right now, is the cut and crop tools. I can't seem to get them to work -- I am trying to get rid of excess white back groun...
