Re: Not All Updates Succeeded - error kernel 6.1.0-18
I also install the new available nvidia driver update. Used the Update Manager. My kernel appears to have updated automatically during the process. I checked using System Info.

[solved] Not All Updates Succeeded - error kernel 6.1.0-18
Anyone else experience an issue with today's LMDE 6 update? Sorry for including a screenshot... Not all changes and updates succeeded. An error occurred Not sure but it looks like my kernel didn't update successfully. I did restart my computer afterwards and am able to login. https://i.imgur.com/JKY...

Re: LMDE 6 Upgrade ??
Will the new feature updates be made available through the Update Manager? Like on the other Ubuntu based edition? I am not seeing any updates at this time. Should I be patient and just wait?
Thank you for answering my questions.

Re: LMDE 6 Upgrade ??
Yes I agree, the Debian Edition is also a quite nice experience. I am just unsure how to get the latest upgraded software, which the Mint 21.3 users are enjoying right now.

[SOLVED] LMDE 6 Upgrade ??
Am testing LMDE 6 on my computer at the moment. Usually I install the Ubuntu based Mint Cinnamon edition and am aware of the recent 21.3 release. So I have a few questions... Is the LMDE 7 upgrade available right now? Should I install and use the "mintupgrade" package? I found some instruc...

Re: Dell 3452 Laptop - Boots to Black screen- Mint 18.3
WHy not work with the working kernel? For now I am working with 4.4.0-119 on 18.3 Was looking forward to a fresh install of Mint 19 though. Would it be possible to switch back to the working one when 19 is released? Should I submit a bug report or something? So that the problem could get fixed. Cur...

Dell 3452 Laptop - Boots to Black screen- Mint 18.3
I am troubled by a black/blank screen upon booting my Dell 3452 laptop. My current version is Mint 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit. Noticed the same issue with Ubuntu-MATE 18.04 beta-1 amd64. Hope to get this fixed so that I can use Mint 19 when released. The problem may be Linux Kernel (graphics driver) relat...

Re: Dell 15 ubuntu edition - inspiron 3552
I'm having the exact same problem with another Braswell based laptop, specifically the Dell Inspiron 14 3452 with an Intel Pentium N3700. Had an install of Gnome Ubuntu 16.04 that had WiFi problems that I hoped would be fixed with 16.10. After the upgrade I could no longer boot successfully. I thou...

Re: while typing, cursor moves out of its own will
I possibly have this same issue, on my Dell laptop. Bought a USB wireless Mouse, then I disable my touchpad in system-settings. My Dell doesn't have a touchpad "kill-button" though, so there is some minor hassle. Is there a way to auto-disable/enable touchpad when mouse is plugged/unplugge...

Re: Password Manager
In my case, I installed KeePassX from the removed repo. The repository is already added in Linux Mint. One need just to enable it in the "software sources" utility. To receive the latest KeePassX version.
Not sure if the official PPA is currently being kept up to date, is it?

Re: Password Manager
I have been using KeePassX for a long time. Latest version is 2.0.2 and I am happy with it. Thought I would mention it. Just in case you want to try something different.
I have yet to try LastPass.

Thunderbird/Enigmail - Backup and Restore
I recently setup Mozilla Thunderbird to send/receive encrypted email, using the Enigmail extension. Currently on Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon, 64-bit. Eventually when Linux Mint 18 is released, I intend to do a fresh install. So my question, what is the best way to backup and restore? How should I move ...

Re: Downgrade to original package version
I want to go back to the previous version of libnss3, the one that came with my system. Because I followed that guide and installed some other version of libnss3. Perhaps a dumb move, but I just wanted Netflix to play. Update: Never did figure it out. Ended up doing a fresh install of Mint, so I no ...

Downgrade to original package version
I am on Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon 32-bit, and was able to get Netflix to play. I followed the how-to guide over on http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2014/08/netflix-linux-html5-support-plugins . Netflix video kept freezing though, probably because I am on an older computer. So I decided to uninstall google-ch...

Re: White dropshadows around windows? Cinnamon or Intel bug
Thanks for responding. Since the shadows are all wrong, I decided to go and install LM17 MATE on the laptop. If a fix is ever made available, I will install the Cinnamon version next time.

Re: White dropshadows around windows? Cinnamon or Intel bug
I was going to install LM17 CInnamon, but then noticed that all the shadows are white. I am on a dv1000 series laptop, with the same Intel graphics. Seeking a fix for this issue. Please Note: I also had to add "forcepae" before it would even boot into the live USB.
