Re: Is it the end for LMDE?

Is it the end for LMDE? No...not at all. It looks to me like Clem and friends have plans for LMDE that extend years into the future. I'm just missing the information about LMDE a bit too, special on github. Someone who goes thru Github cant see that it is existing. And as Debian Stable always is a ...

Re: Any possibility of a LMDE 3 Beta release before Stretch?

Is there a development release of LMDE3 somewhere to download?

Or at least a script/howto how to put together such a development release?

I find it pity that there is not even on github a LMDE repo where shows at least a bit what the differece is between the common and the LMDE version.

Re: [SOLVED} What's in store for LMDE 3, sysvinit or systemd

I lately tried to change my startup default to systemd on betsy. There is a sub menu entry where i can select it. Unfortunately selecting systemd as subentry takes the duble of time to auto-start. I tried to find out where i could propose to change on LMDE3 the menu entry on Grub Level (puting both ...

Re: MATE 1.18 updates

Good morning I see that #590 is now closed. Has this issue been corrected? Should I reinstall LMDE Mate and try it? thanks, Peter You have to read the follow up links to on github: https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-panel/issues/305 @raveit65: all the fixes are in 1.18 branch now, I think it's re...

Re: <SOLVED>USB-Serial connection (cp210x) with onion omega IoT (onion.io)

First of all, i can not recommend anymore onion.io. They sold me a version of minidock they never released the schematics of. After they changed the Minidock and resolved a power issue who exists o my version. This caused the problems that I once could see and other times could not. When i was buyin...

Looking for buddies how introduce me in LMDE Support

Hello since longer time I do work happy with LMDE2 and would like to know more about how to get into debugging and Support. My preference is the Mate Desktop. Github is not new for me, i just have a bit a trouble to see the overview of the whole LMDE distro config things. Example, where can i find L...

Re: Modifying Users and Groups

Thx bob, your workaround helps!

Pity that our loving LMDE not gets the same attention as other versions.

BTW, with the live ISO (8.0) everything is still fine ... (i use debian version 8.6 (cat /etc/debian_version))

It is really strange, but with a newer and a longer USB-Big to USB-mini cable I get the (dev/ttyUSB*) mounted.

After reboot the changes where gone ... no dev/ttyUSB0 was available anymore?!

What the heck is different in Mint LMDE that after reboot the changes are gone?

As none seems to have this problem i answer my self:

http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions ... -4-0-build

This workaround works with LMDE 2

To check if ttyUSB0 is really there just type in terminal:
dmesg | grep ttyUSB

<SOLVED>USB-Serial connection (cp210x) with onion omega IoT (onion.io)

Normaly I do work with my LMDE. But as I was looking for help in IRC I tried a LinuxMint Mate 17.3 Live CD to connect my onion omega (IoT device). As I do have some hints for an error, I will post it here. I was trying with the tutorial https://wiki.onion.io/Tutorials/Connecting-to-Omega-via-Serial-...

Re: All forums user should reset their password

If you created after they robbed/hacked the db you don't need to change anything.
In the other hand, what does it cost you to do so and start using a Program like KeePassX?
The team just remembers the users to avoid being responsible for a bigger disaster.
