Re: Directory Map

Oh thanks! Definitely a good answer!

Just something I could add: I looked up for a option to display only directories and not files. It is the -d input. I ran the same command with a -d and it worked perfectly.

Tanks again!

Directory Map

Hey guys, I've been wondering for the last few weeks what would it be like to lose my mp3 music files all of a sudden, so I decided not only to get them backed up, but also to somehow make up a list of the artists >> cds I have on my music folder, so it won't be much of a hassle to browse the web fo...

Re: SOLUTION FOR MINTUPDATE !!!!!

emorrp1,

I've updated my system today via mintUpdate, and it all worked like a charm. I've already posted your solution to the Portuguese Forum instructing how to install it via Synaptic.

Thanks for the support,

Vinicius

Re: SOLUTION FOR MINTUPDATE !!!!!

Hey emorrp1, I'm glad we've got a fix already! I've done the full update via synaptic, and I was able to get mintUpdate up and running again. It displayed only one of my available updates though (since I had installed the rest of them just before), wich was the Amarok 2. As I said, I have downgraded...

Re: SOLUTION FOR MINTUPDATE !!!!!

Ok, so tracking this topic and waiting for the final fix will be it? I'm sorry I'm unfamiliar to that sort of problems, but don't we need to report it to the development team? So far I see no update for it on synaptic... Also, I had an idea: couldn't we just have mintUpdate "downgraded" to its previ...

Re: SOLUTION FOR MINTUPDATE !!!!!

I see that 2 brazilians have already attended to this post as they're all having the same problem. I too can't see my updates when I start mintUpdate. I've just migrated to the Gloria gnome version just the day before yesterday, and everytime I run my mintupdate (as said above, it is automatically s...

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?

Wouldn't it be better to keep the qt version of the network manager? :? The kubuntu 8.1 manager?

Re: PSC 1410

I'm sorry I took so long to answer, but Husse's tip is exactely the same proceadure I followed and it didn't work. 1410 isn't displayed on the drivers list. :( As for you Hoffman, thanks for saying that! Knowing that someone was able make my print work has motivated me to try again :D I was going to...

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?

That's great news to hear!

Oh and by the way... I read on a review a couple days ago that the new kubuntu features a poor network manager. Are you keeping the old knetworkmanager?

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?

Am I wrong at guessing that now that you're relatively familiar to the new kde the release cycle will be shorter? I got the feeling that, compared to Elyssa, it took a little longer to Felicia to be released. Was it because of the KDE4 implementation? (I don't intend to say you're taking too long Bo...

Re: KDE 4.2 few issues

Yeah, shutdown time is just too long. Fortunately, you can leave your system turning off and go out to do something else, wich wouldn't be the case if it was your booting time that was excessively long. But, sometimes kde freezes on a black screen when I tell it to shutdown; it's doesn't happen ofte...

[SOLVED] PSC 1410

I've been looking for a solution to this issue for quite a long time. I know there is a topic for it already, but the proceadure recommended to the guy that had the same problem I did, is the same I was recommended, and it doesn't work. My printer is, as stated on the title, a HP PSC 1410 All-in-One...

Re: How To: Partition your Hard Drive.

Then in order to make mint read my partition all I need is to set the mounting point, without checking the format box!

Thanks!

Re: How To: Partition your Hard Drive.

I'm currently moving back from pclinuxos to mint 6 (hopefully to mint 6 KDE the moment the final version is released). I don't need all my configurations to be kept, because I only tested that distro for about two weeks. What I'd like to know is: When I [re]install mint and set this data partition m...

Re: How To: Partition your Hard Drive.

Question:

Once I partition my hd in / and /home, what should I do before installing a new system? Should I wipe out everything on my home folder but my own stuff (cleaning all the hidden paths), or having those directories will somehow help my new system to read my configs?
