Re: Can GParted create a bootable FAT32 partition?

Yes GParted can make a FAT32 partition 32GB (or bigger) Yes it can be marked active and Yes the stick can be bootable. I cannot find the "active" flag on GParted. Do you mean the "boot" flag? The "active" flag is necessary only for booting a PC in Legacy BIOS. Is the "boot" flag on GParted the equi...

Re: Can GParted create a bootable FAT32 partition?

a Windows ISO does not boot a live session like Mint does. It's just an installer. At this moment, Windows PE is running on my PC, and I can access the Internet. I created the Windows PE USB drive merely by copying the contents of the ISO file into the bootable FAT32 partition without burning or us...

Why do you want a bootable FAT32 partition?
I want it bootable in both UEFI and Legacy if I copy Windows into it.
I want it bootable in both UEFI and Legacy if I copy Linux into it.
I might copy either Windows or Linux into it in the future.

Re: Can GParted create a bootable FAT32 partition?

the ultimate objective. For example, I have two ISO files: Linux.iso and Windows.iso. I want to copy the contents of either into the bootable FAT32 partition, so that it will be bootable in both UEFI and Legacy. I don't want to use Rufus, which will erase everything. Re: Can GParted create a bootable FAT32 partition?

I have used GParted to re-partition the USB stick and set the FAT32 partition as "boot".
Is the flag "boot" necessary for UEFI or Legacy BIOS or both?

[SOLVED] Can GParted create a bootable FAT32 partition?

I have a 64-GB USB stick. I have created a 32-GB FAT32 partition via DiskPart on Windows. Someone said GParted has set no "32-GB" limit on FAT32. If I use GParted to create a FAT32 partition, can it be marked as active? I want the stick bootable.

Re: Does Mint support TEAC NT-503?

On a Chinese forum, someone has an old notebook and TEAC NT-503. I advised him to install Mint, and he said TEAC NT-503 only supported Windows 7 or 10 in this post https://computer.discuss.com.hk/viewthr ... d507705578

All packages there are translations. What I need is a Chinese input method rather than a Chinese translation.
