Re: new hp cups out

To answer your question
how important is it to update from hp the new cups

I would ask myself: Is everything working fine as it is right now and is there a newer feature that I really need with the update? If you're happy with how it works now, then don't update.

Wait for JeremyB's response because he's the one who asked for the command to be run and he's excellent at wireless problems.

You're pretty much having a conversation with yourself. 3 posts, one after the other.

I thought you might have been on the Mint machine.

The command is LSUSB but in small letters. Try again in Terminal.

Re: 60 FPS cpu Maxed out?

You could try using the modesetting driver instead of intel, see Pjotr's Easy linux Tips here , section 5. I JUST SAID THAT I DID THAT No, you did not say that you did that. You only showed a link that had that information, which not everyone clicks on, so they wouldn't have any idea. Also, CAPS me...

Re: .....and, they're off!

I have a Belkin N300 Wireless USB Adapter (Model: F9L1002v1) that has never failed me---from Mint 17.1 to 18.2. It installs without being online.

I notice that your hard disk size is listed as 335.8 GB and 82.9% used. Plus your / partition is 32 GB with no separate /home partition, so all your files (system and user) are on the / partition. You don't seem to be using your hard disk as efficiently as it could. be. Also noticed that your swap s...

If you used your file manager to accidentally delete the file, check your trash. It may be in there and if it is, you can restore it.

Re: System Backup and Restore

I agree with syg00. Friends always ask me "what's the best...?" for computers, software, etc. I usually respond with "what are you going to use it for?" I tried Clonezilla. I personally didn't like it. I use Aptik https://www.tecmint.com/aptik-a-tool-to-backuprestore-your-favouri...

... It is my belief that computing attracts a very particular personality type as well - the INTP... I usually don't use such direct wording, but that's ridiculous. Everyone uses computer nowadays. If you're talking about making Mint more attractive, you'd be wanting people from all walks of life. ...
