Re: Were you to buy an AIO for around 60 bucks, what?

On newegg or amazon, what all in one scanner/printer would you get that works in Linux for less than 60 bucks? Used would be fine for me, I could go on ebay. None. Been down that dark, winding road several times. I finally stopped the madness and got a decent AIO. The old saying, "You get what you ...

@ Jerry.
My settings are like your yours for Options. As for Levels, I asked that Level 4 be visible,
If you've been installing the Level 4 visible ones, then that may be a cause.

Can you post the settings you have in Update Manager?

For example, I have these settings:
Update Preferences 1.JPG
Update Manager Options
Update Preferences 2.JPG
Update Manager Levels

Re: ASUS mini ... is Mint installation possible ???

Can't read the last post's pic. Try using a larger resolution, and save the pic with more compression. In Shutter (a linux app to take snapshots) I use 50 out of 100 for the quality and full screen pics are under 100K. I can read the other pic. It look like there's 8 GB total partition for Mint syst...

Re: How to connect to a specific access point?

I neglected to notice that your DE is MATE---mine is Cinnamon. Sorry about that.

I enjoyed experimenting with this. Thanks for the challenge and the learning experience!

I hope that you can get everything sorted out the way you want it.

Hello Jerry,

It does indeed. No problem with the touch-screen. I have not tested the pen device.
The reason I asked is that my guess, and only a guess, is that the touchscreen is taking over and disables the touchpad.

Re: Cinnamon 18.3 and Epson XP-434 not connecting

Tip: try not to get to hung up in learning Terminal just yet. This was only necessary because you're trying to install an outside driver for the Epson. Most of us don't use Terminal that much. Once everything was working and in place, I hardly use Terminal. So, if lsb is installed, then continue wit...

Re: Cinnamon 18.3 and Epson XP-434 not connecting

If you already executed the command I posted sudo apt-get install lsb , then no, you won't need apt-get install lsb The sudo apt-get install lsb command is the same command as apt-get install lsb but has elevated privileges to perform the command. sudo is short for su per user do which gives you tem...

Re: How to connect to a specific access point?

So after totally turning off automatic connection, I got this screen from clicking on the tray icon for networks: Shutter-003.jpg From here, I would be able to see which AP has the strongest signal and click on it. These were my setups for AP1 and AP2. The BSSID MAC addresses are made up for securit...

Re: How to connect to a specific access point?

Reread your original post. So the main problem is that you keep getting connected to an AP that's not the nearest?

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about this and haven't had that experience.

Re: How to connect to a specific access point?

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the TMI. I understand the steps that you mentioned, but I don't have ten BSSIDs memorized. I was hoping for a solution that did not involve repeatedly looking up the relationship between the BSSID and the English name for the AP. The method that I detailed solved tha...

Re: How to connect to a specific access point?

Welcome!

Details, yes, but TMI.

Connect to the network that you want as the default.

In Network Connections, click on that network, then click on Edit. At BSSID, choose the MAC address from the drop-down list.

That should make it choose the SSID with that MAC address.

One thing I've noticed. Once linux Teamviewer is installed, the new updates to it come through the Update Manager in Mint so someone is maintaining it.
That's because when TeamViewer is installed in Linux, a repository is added to "Additional repositories" in Software Sources.
