Re: How to connect to a specific access point?

Welcome!

Details, yes, but TMI.

Connect to the network that you want as the default.

In Network Connections, click on that network, then click on Edit. At BSSID, choose the MAC address from the drop-down list.

That should make it choose the SSID with that MAC address.

One thing I've noticed. Once linux Teamviewer is installed, the new updates to it come through the Update Manager in Mint so someone is maintaining it.
That's because when TeamViewer is installed in Linux, a repository is added to "Additional repositories" in Software Sources.

Re: Using BackInTime for migrating Mint applications.

I don't think BackInTime is the best way for migrating.

I'd suggest using Aptik, which is perfect for such a task. You can select what you want to backup and migrate and has 3 levels of the user interface.

Re: Cinnamon 18.3 and Epson XP-434 not connecting

b_hayles, I recently had an Epson XP-640 and understand what you're going through. Follow pdc_2's advice about the driver. After that gets installed, you'll find your Epson XP-434 (or maybe XP-430 series). You can select that. Afterwards, you should be able to print. I had a hard time getting my XP-...

I've been using TeamViewer to this day to help friends and it's never given me a problem.

Re: Installing TeamViewer

I always have so many problems each time I try to install a new program. I think it's one of the main problems with Linux. It's so easy on Android, Windows, Mac, but keeps being a pain in the ass on Linux. 1-Software Manager: when I try to search for a program, I only have a grey window and nothing...

Re: please help me intall Wine

Start Configure Wine from Mint menu
See what the default Windows version it is using. I would try Windows 7.
Then try a game.

Re: Using Windows 10 was like...

I just had to fire up Windwoes 10 to update my NavMan GPS before going on a 3000km road trip next weekend. Unfortunately there's no way to update the device without Windwoes. After the customary 1 hour long forced upgrade of the OS, using Windwoes felt like I was bathing in someone else's dirty bat...

Wife tried to use it once, it was an unmitigated disaster. I think the address put in was off a bit, set for w. instead of west street something. It lead to a bad part of town, ended up in front of a dicey looking bar. Now she prints out directions and looks at a map.

... I was selling a moped engine a few years ago and the buyer postponed his visit until when his navi was back from the repair shop. Re: Will a Linux "Live" USB Drive Wear Out? If so, When?

The heart of my question is answered in the quoted text above, I think, because it differentiates between the typical LM installation that is "write once" and "read only" using more common methods like Rufus (which I used), and a "full install" where I assume the computer treats the USB drive as if...

Check to see what's starting in the Startup Applications.

If you can, post a snapshot of the window.

Re: please help me intall Wine

vesko, My suggestion is to start from scratch. Using Synaptic Package Manager, enter the word wine in the search box. (Make sure Status is clicked in the lower left) On the left, click the word Installed to show just the installed wine apps. Shutter-030.jpg Right-click on each app and Mark for Compl...
