Re: Chromium Browser No Saved Passwords
They stopped it from syncing a couple months ago also, which made it useless for me. Hi RamBurner, I came here to ask, if someone has experienced the same problem I have since today. Seeing this, my question would be, who is 'they' in this context? For me, chromium-browser (95.0.4638.69 (Official B...

Thank you, this is actually a good starting point.
Do you know, how and where the previous window size is stored?

You should find a igb-5.5.2.tar.gz on your USB drive. Intel provides a good documentation here: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/13663/ ... _5.5.2.txt
Worked for me for a e1000e thith no problems. EXCEPT I had to built this module at any system update.

Re: [Problem gone] Xorg/xfce not running with Nvida graphics on first login
Sorry I did not notice this post earlier. And I can not tell, if this would work, because the problem is just gone. Which is strange, because I did not touch this system since then.
But thanks anyway!

[Problem gone] Xorg/xfce not running with Nvida graphics on first login
Hi list members, I have a bit of a strange problem here. This is a home theater system, running latest Mint and a GeForce GTX 1650 with the recommended latest Nividia driver. At first, this was just working well out of the box. Then I must have changed something, which made things odd. On boot, a de...

Ulyana and kernel version 5.5?
Hi folks,
I wonder if Linux 5.5 will be the kernel of Linux Mint 20 some day?
I have a new B550 platform with a RTL8125 NIC, which does not work with Mint's kernel 5.4.
The Realtech module update works fine, but having this with the disro would be even nicer.
Thanks, Martin

Remember good old fvwm...
Not fancy but stupid simple. On the other hand, no xorg.conf nor vesafb to mess around with. Well, there is no free lunch after all.
Cheers, Martin

[Solved] Is there a proper way to change Qt fonts in xfce?
I'm not sure, what I exactly did, but removing an old .config/gtk-2.0/ was part of it. Now changing the Appearance -> Style in qt5ct had an effect, which it did not have before. No idea, if some other magic was involved, but it works for me.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Is there a proper way to change Qt fonts in xfce?
This is getting me one step further: Looks like I have some residue somewhere in my ~. A newly created user looks just fine, but my present home was taken from a previous install. I thought, I had removed all this, like stuff in .config .local. Where else would those things hide?

Can not set desktop background using "Desktop Settings" menu
Hi member, I wonder what I messed at that point. When I try changing the background image using xfdesktop-settings , I can not select any custom image. No matter if I have a jpg, tiff or any other format, no image file is selectable but grayed out. However, I can use "Set as Wallpaper" in ...

Power management settings do not aply system wide
Hi Members, on my Tricia xfce, the power management settings seem to only apply per user. When I, as an administrative user, basically disable all power save options this system will ignore this, when the screen is locked. Which means, from the login screen, a push on the power button will shut down...

Is there a proper way to change Qt fonts in xfce?
Hi members,
on my shiny new Tricia install, Qt applications don't look that nice for now. Font are too big and look clumsy. I wonder if there is a proper way to make Qt look just like they are in xfce/GTK?

Re: Is it better to set root password or not?
Setting a weak password is definitively worse then setting none. Because a normal PAM setup requires a password to be present to log in.
There is a 'nullok' option for the PAM password module, but hopefully, no one ever uses this.

Re: sudo password caching
Sudo stores a timestamp of the last successful user's password check in /var/run/sudo/ts/. It does not get prolonged automatically. You can use 'sudo -v' to update this timestamp. You can invalidate this timestamp with 'sudo -k'. If and how long an authentication will be stored is set by 'timestamp_...

Fancy RGB lighting
Hi members, my shiny new hardware has LED lighting. Which is totally needless from a rational perspective, But it is cool. Unfortunately, I do not get any fanciness, because I can not change anything, it just shines in a pale blue. I found some kind of documentation and the OpenRGB, former OpenAura,...

[...] It's perhaps a bit picky but in Mint Xfce 19.3 its Settings Manager - Windows Manager Tweaks - Accessibility . Picky it is.
