Re: After 20.2 upgrade, Mint will not sleep/suspend

Hi, I'm having the same issue, with old hardware 2013. I did not upgrade, but completely reinstalled from 19.3 to 20.2, I also had Nvidia 460 before. I did uninstalled all nvida 470 drivers, went to noveau, and back to 460. Unfortunately I forgot to test while I had only Noveau. I found in the logs ...

Re: mounting an external hard drive now requires admin authentication on version 20.2?

Hi, I'm having the same issues, cannot suspend, and asking for password to mount after a failed attempt to suspend. Have you found any solutions to the suspension issue?.

Hi, please help me. There is something wrong, sometimes on shutdown the computer hangs trying to do something related to the HD, other times is not responsive to keyboard, mouse, and the screen is frozen, but the audio keeps playing. I have checked the SMART status of the drives, but marks it as OK....

Re: Random short freeze <10seg

1. Does Driver Manager say you're using the recommended driver for your nvidia card? Yes, 390 is the recomended 2. Could be an applet causing this? I believe a cpu checking app did something similar to some people a while back. Maybe if there is a residue, I installed "up time" which had a...

That is exactly the issue here, it should be 192.168.1.18, same as when I boot from the live USB.

nmcli dev show | grep DNS IP4.DNS[1]: 192.168.1.158 IP4.DNS[2]: 8.8.8.8 IP4.DNS[3]: 8.8.4.4 Sorry, I did not understood this: If the DNS is shown handed out by your router through DHCP, I would think there is no problem.

In the network connections applet, I have deleted the connection, and still the same issue.

Re: Persistent manual DNS

Hi, the issue is that I do not want that DNS set, I want the ones provided by the router. I only get those when booting from the USB, I have deleted the network profile several times. cat /etc/resolv.conf # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8) # DO NOT EDIT TH...

Persistent manual DNS

Hello, I have an issue with the DNS on the wired network connection even when I have everything in auto, the DNS behaves as if it was manually set. I have deleted the network connection, and in the new one the problem persists. I have booted from a usb using the same OS and it works as expected, so ...

Re: Nvidia driver not loading despite being installed

Yes it seems to be the same issue. That link lead me to realize having the kernel 4.10. I was in a wrong path for the new security patches, went back to 4.04. Yes, it has become pretty complicated, at one point I was about to download the newest driver from nvidia, until I realized what it takes to ...

It's solved !! not sure how nor why. Reading another thread (https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=258381&p=1394698&hilit=install+nvidia+driver#p1394698), I did more or less this: I blacklisted noveau (or logged-in in software rendering mode -don't remember which one worked),...
